Well I'm Proud!

Post by GavITFC » Wed Mar 15, 2006 4:51 am

Can i just say how proud of all the players, staff and yes even the board for putting us back on track in such a short space of time!
At the start of the season I would have bet my house that we would be involved in a relegation fight at this point of the season and as it happens we have kept the promotion battle raging till late into the season.
This season has seen a new crop of youngsters come through, and we have even been spending cash on players!!!
So a pat on the back for everyone connected to Ipswich Town, yes this season is over but ROLL ON NEXT SEASON! (provided we don't sell anybody! )

I agree Gav. With all the injuries we have had and the players we were left with at the start of the season, we have done bloody well.

On saying that there have been many times during games when we know we could have played better and gave up trying.

BUT we beat the scum 2.1 like you say and that makes up for it (almost!!!) :D

Yeah I also agree - I expected nothing from this season, and we got nothing - but we had a few bright moments, particuarly the Scum beating, and some new stars have started to shine.

I think next year looks promising, we should be good play-off contenders, though we're still some way away from being able to take automatic - Joe will have to bring in new blood, some more experience and some new youngsters - we need a stronger midfield built around Garvan and Juan, and something more at the back - and all the bloody strikers need to get fit and stay fit.

Gav I totaly agree mate.....

.....I'm still feeling gutted about last night, not just losing but in the manner we lost....there are no words to describe how I feel about last night, especially the ref.....I cant honestly tell you when I'v last seen such an inept officaial ....but the long journey home game me time to reflect...

....and yes I'm so damn proud....all the players trudged over to us last night and took their time in appaulding us, you could see the pain and dissapointment clearly on their faces, they were exhausted and mentally drained and as gutted as every one of us Town fans there last night, Matt Richards looked like he'd taken it very badly, you just wanted to go down and hug them...they knew it was all over the same as we all do now...but they fought to the bitter end and you cant ask for more than that can you.

So now its our turn to look forward to next season...we've seen the shoots of new growth already....and I'm certain that next time around we'll be serious promotion contenders....it wasn't that long ago that we were worried about relegation, the club as a unit turned things around and i'm totall confident that next season the club/team will do us proud...again :D

Im a very sad but also happy person today and damn proud to be a Town fan......

There is just SO MUCH to look forward to for next season IMO.....AND we have dont nothing short of amazin this season, considering we had lost practically the whole bloody team !!...and we STILL dont have a fully fit strike forceeven now !!

WELL DONE JAH ROYLE.....

Next season I think we stand every chance of "doing a Reading"....who's gonna be better than us ??......

Yes well done to all concerned. There are a few things Im not happy with but I guess we all could name a few things, all in all well done to the lads.I had a bet with a work college were months ago he bet me a tenner we´d go down.I´ll admit I was worried but I never really thought we were going down and for the lads(and begrudginly I´ll admit JR) credit where its due.
The win at carrot road makes up for the defeat at home,so onwards and upwards town.

I LOVE YOU IPSWICH
