No Fuller Appeal

Post by DeIpswich » Mon Mar 20, 2006 12:46 pm

Town have been told they have no right of appeal regarding Ricardo Fuller's red card at Crystal Palace. The Jamaican will now miss two games which is likely to signal the end of his short but eventful loan spell with the Blues.

Boss Joe Royle told the club site: "We have spoken to the Football Association and there is no right of appeal.

"Whether the gesture was aimed at the crowd or the linesman, it carries a one-match ban and because he was suspended for five yellow cards, thanks to the dramatics of Joey Gudjonsson against Leicester, that doubles up to two games."

Royle says he will be speaking with the Southampton striker regarding his immediate future: "I will be talking to Ricardo about the situation later today."

The Town manager is keen to sign Fuller permanently in the summer but may not be able to due to his wages at St Mary's. In the meantime, the Blues may choose not to expend any more cash on a loan extension with the season all but over.

I think reading between lines in earlier Newspaper reports - Joe would like to get him on a perminant basis - but we cant afford his wages  ....since P/O's now unlikely we have decide not to persue his red card..cos we cant afford his wages long term ..and he would be on his way back to Saints after the Hull game anyway!
