to me it has been more a case of sh*t tactics, which make the team look a lot worse than we are, but there is no excuse for the numerous thrashings we have received this season.

does make me wonder why i decided to buy my first ever season ticket.

unfortunately you have to take the rough with the smooth to follow your team. and there has been far too many rough times this season.

i am undecided though wether they deserve my patronage anymore this season after todays debacle.

and Royle ought to be taken to one side and a big words needs to be spoken into his shell like.

and regardless if the season is almost over the players need reminding who pay their wages.

To be fair there have been many defining factors that have caused the downfall of our season.

- Injuries/suspensions - We have been on the end of many dubious sending offs. We have also had a significant injury list which has meant half of our youth team have had to come in and cover. Not the ideal situation

- Lack of playmakers - We only have Currie who seems to set up goals (according to people on here). We need to heavily invest here if we are to get anywhere

- Poor defence - Our defence is weak. De Vos and Wilnis are too old. Granted both have good days, but these seem to be less frequent. Also, seemed Sito was our saviour, but has gone downhill since according to people on here.

- Lack of money - We have a huge debt over our heads. This has meant a lack of transfer activity, and also meaning we have to play with the squad we have. Restrictions meaning we have to buy frees and loans, and having to sell our star players - not the best situation. Looks like its going to be another season like this.

- Mystifying tactical decisions - 4-5-1? Naylor up front? 4-3-3 against Preston at home? (?) Stupid decisions.

As you can see, there has been some points for and against your standing. However, if all fans thought like you, there would be no ITFC to support. Therefore i urge you to renew, as it seems this summer may be another long one, with the goings of MORE players, unless people decide to renew.

Most teams would have been relegated after losing FIVE experienced first team players from last season...and then having to rely on green horn acadamy players still wet behind the ears.

Oh and lets not forget the FACT that ALL of our recognised strikers have been absent for practically the WHOLE season.

Yes the season ahs been lacklustre - but there are reasons if you were to only and sit and give it some thought for a moment.

I agree you can "stuff your season ticket" but how about right up YOUR arse - you're probably one of these norwich stylised "bandwagoners" !anyway !

Whilst Im still fuming about yesterday...and Luton...I dont regret re newing my season ticket one little bit....

IM IPSWICH TILL I DIE......I have to admit to being worried about the furture and feel that Royle has a lot to answer to...I think he should go now rather than at the end of next season..I want to start afresh rather than see him lose interest in OUR club in the final half of next season.

yesterday's game was dire and we just wasn't at the races, however this in my opinion was one of the few games this season we wasn't robbed and it was just down to pure cr*p on our behalf......we just never looked like getting going.

but i'd like to ask the people who are not going to renew what sort of season they thought we was going to have, bet they were like most and thought the play-off's simply wasn't going to happen this time around........well it's happened as predicted and this has been a season full of injuries and inept reff's, like i've said before it's easy to blame reff's etc but this year has been bad.....consistently.

there are positives to take from this season, like the players who are just out of nappies that have come through and in my opinion done bloody well and next season we won't surely have the luck we've had this time around :!: :!: :!:

thing is we are now relying on 1) season ticket sales 2) mr sheepshanks to honour his word by not selling players, esp for peanuts......if they do feel the need to sell on players, make the likes of charswich pay......big time.

this season has been cr*p and i can't wait for it to end, roll on 06/07

A bit hard IMHO, I'm sure we are all ITFC through and through, but I have to admit I want to see players wanting and fighting to win a game, it's not so much the winning or losing it's the commitment of the players and you have to admit they have not showen much of that of late.

I know he was frustrated with the result - so are we all ! BUT a sense of perspective has to be kept I think. My friend actually said to me durring the game that this is the first time in nearly 15 years Town have not been in the thick of things - what other Club outside of the Prem can say that ?

I agree there was little passion in the players yesterday - and by and large that seems to be par for the course with a lot of these so called superstars in the professional game at many Clubs, today.

I actually wish the season was over now - we;ve done the best we can , given the circumstances...and as I said in an earlier post IMHO ...we should count our blessings - we could so easily have been relegated !

why on earth is it a"disgrace" ippers ? Other Clubs have had far less disruption to playing staff and finances than us and been relegated..eg Wolves, Barnsley, Sheffield Weds, Huddesrfield - We were bloody lucky IMO not to go down during this transitional period !

At the start of the season most of us replied to a thread saying what our expectations for this season were....

By far and above the most popular reply if memory serves me right was "mid-table finish with a slim possibility of scraping into the playoffs somehow".

Well we've done that, we'll finish mid table, we got close to the playoffs. Why the moaning and threats of not renewing season tickets?

Would be interesting to dig those start of season posts out and ping them to the top....

So its acceptable for us to get relegated? we are just as big a club as Birmingham, Wigan, West Brom, Fulham, Blacburn, Middlesbrough,Portsmouth etc so therefore surely we should be aiming for the premier, not playing the likes of Carlisle, Blackpool and the MK dons  . We should be learning the lessons of Forest and Sheff Wed not following them...

not sure the performance deserves to be talked about in any form

to say i was dissapointed was an understatment, i never ever thought id see the day when town were so completely outplayed by a very average mid table championship team, crap tactics, no team spirit whatsoever, no passion no determination, it was sh*te

god knows how people can watch that sober!!!

No where have I said it is "acceptable " to be relegated.

YOU said it's a "disgrace that we should even be thinking" about relegation..all I said was why is it a disgrace to say we could so easliy have been relegated? To deny that it might or could happen to us is a good old "head in the sand philosophy"...which usually ends up with it becoming a "fact".

Do you think we are "too good to go down"?...the fans of teams like Wolves, Man Utd, and West Ham probably did too !

I also agree with you when you say we should be learning the lessons of Forest and Sheffiled Weds , not following them ....but that is precisley my point we could so easily have followed in their footsteps this year , because we have lost so many good players from last season..and had far worse financial problems than they had they went down, we havnt and for that we should be bloody grateful !

This doesnt translate to me saying it is "acceptable" to be relegated, merely that we should "acknowledge" that we have actually not done too badly this season, when you consider the squad we have had and financial situation we have faced - I say again many Clubs have been relegated with far less problems than we have faced this season!

yes, yesterdays match was shocking but I have already renewed my season ticket and have no regrets in doing so. We have managed to stay in this division whilst losing our top three goalscorers in the summer'have had horendous injuries and some of the worst refs I have ever had the misfortune to see. Just because we are Ipswich Town we have no divine right to promotion or staying in this division, but I honestly feel if we had not had the injuries or the refs we would be where Sheffield United are now. There are teams who haven't lost a lot of their players (one is just up the road) and they have not done much better than us! So roll on next season though I don't think it will be as easy as this season to get out of this division, and I mean upwards not downwards.

Artemis. With respect someone always says that it won't be as easy next season to get out. The fact is that its never easy.

I am shocked by yesterday's result but not really surprised since its end of term stuff and Stoke knocked in 3 in the last 10 or so.

someone said that we are lucky not to have come off worse during our transitional period. I agree. The question is, has our transition l period finished. I doubt it.

I'll drink to that ....we all need to stick together behind Town..and I know we all are..feelings just run high we you've been on the end of crap time like we've had. But I honeslty believe things will get better - and yes I've bought my ST too !

things will still be sticky for a few years yet DB...I reckoned we would still be feeling the effects of administration for at least ten years ..but over that period of time the dust would gradually settle. TBH I doubt will everget back to the heady heights of the Roibson era - but at least we had those times- unlike some teams not a million miles away !!

I have to admit that I was rather pissed off with the Ipswich Town performance on Saturday. It was almost like if they couldn't be bothered to get going because they had nothing to play for, and that for me was annoying.

On the season on the whole I do believe this is our transition season so I wasn't expecting us to go up or down but instead neuturing our young talent instead. Loads of teams outside the Premiership are going through transition periods especially in the Nationwide Conference where the part-time teams are turning professial and are changing there entire squads around. Things will get better for us and I'm staying positive for the future.

Well Tractor Girl I can understand why the boys weren't so keen on Saturday now - what with the prospect of being neutered 'n all.
