Just read this on the BBC website:
Ipswich manager Joe Royle could be offered the same position at Derby County. (People)
Don't know why they would want him?

Just saw that too, I'd welcome the departure - however confusing it may be!

the time for him to go would be right after the final match...no sense in dragging it on further....new face, new enthusiasm....lets get it sorted before pre-season starts....

Dont think it will happen whatever we feel about him. And if he did go - who would people realistically think could replace him ?

Royle plays down Rams talk
Monday Apr 10 2006 11:32
Ipswich Town boss Joe Royle has scotched suggestions that he could be on his way to Derby County if the consortium currently bidding to buy the club are successful.
Royle, whose 57th birthday on Saturday was ruined by a 4-1 home defeat against Stoke City, confirmed that he is settled at Portman Road and it is unlikely that he will move to another club.
He said: "I'm very happy here at Ipswich, if a little frustrated after Saturday. Also, I can't disguise that I do wonder what might have happened if we could have speculated more."
Peter Gadsby, the man at the head of the consortium attempting to take over at Pride Park, refused to comment on the link to Royle and said nothing would happen while they were not in charge of the Rams.
He said: "We understand that there will be lots of speculation regarding the manager's position, as there always is with these type of things, but there will be no discussion about a manager until we have secured the club.
"If, and when, there are discussions, they will be kept confidential until we have appointed somebody."
