Currie Stats

I know none of us can dispute the fact that statistically speaking Currie has provided the amunition for alot of goals this season, so much so that he is rated as being the best in the league - but how many has he actually made happen???

I am just curious to see where the stats are and what they in comparison to other players. Could it well be that teams in the championship do not rely on playmakers as such??

I only question this because we have hardly been electric up front this season, due to enforced injuries etc - so I would like to see just how many he has set-up in comparison to total goals scored etc.

Stats can support certain points, but at the same time they need to be looked at in comparison to stats across the board in order to gauge just how useful that player is.

Not a currie dig people (not yet) just want the stats woohoo!!!

Stats IMO are meaningless, Just a bunch of mathmatitians trying to appear intellegent!!! Youve seen Currie in action many a time,You pay good money to do so and it is only your opinion on him that matters.

I'll give you Currie's stats for the last two matches:

Corners and free kicks taken = all of them.

Town players found = Zero!

Assists = Zero

Opposition goalkeeper/ 1st defender = 100%

There you go not all stats are misleading, he really has been that sh*te!

He did actually make a tackle against Stoke  The opposing player was injured! Imagine being hurt by Currie

I'm honestly not trying to wind luke up, merely make a serious point, because Darren has wasted every dead ball in recent matches.

Plus he failed to find a man with most (if not all?!) of his crosses today.....not good from a 'playmaker'

Where do you start with Currie? I was so frustrated with him today. To call him a 'playmaker' on the last 4-5 games is laughable. It is no joke that 99% of his crosses and set pieces have found opposition heads or goalkeepers arms.

He constantly neglects his defensive duties. Yes, some people will say he's not meant to - but WHY? All midfield players have a duty to put their foot in and TACKLE. Currie cannot create chances if he doesn't help WIN THE BALL BACK!

Hopefully next season Currie will be more of a bench player. With Williams back fit there's no contest between the two IMO - Williams has to play. I'm fed up of carrying Currie every single game - he's a luxury player who should be used as an impact player from the bench if things are not going right in the last 20-30 minutes. He is only useful when things go well, but when the chips are down he disappears nowhere to be seen!! He saunters about the pitch looking like he is marking and harassing players but in all fairness most of us would ride a tackle from Currie!

There's reasons why other clubs in the Championship never took a gamble on him and for 250k we were completely ripped off - especially when you think Kazim-Richards cost Brighton 250k and he was the dogs bollocks today, athletic, quick, strong, everything Currie isn't!

Completely agree with everything there, Lewis....Currie is NOT a good crosser....I noticed that today more than ever....and his set-pieces are getting worse. IMO we can't afford to have him in the team....he lets us down defensively, and he's not providing anything in attack. We cant afford to play in the hope that he will provide one quality cross in a whole 90 mins...coz at the mo, it just isnt happening

Plus, I dont think I have ever seen Currie header or even jump when a ball is in a perfect heading position. He does that silly little dummy when the ball is dropping.

Really pissed me off.

When he got booed today when he wasted that cross it really summed up how the fans think of Currie.
