Takes Jim off at Half time..
Absolutely disgusting.. OK Jims career is over but he could have givn him 5 minutes at least and allowed the FANS to pay their final tribute
to him
He (JR) must go. I have lost total respect for him..

Jim has just said in his interview that it was his choice to come off at half time. Joe offered him 5 mins but he didn't want it. he knew he had the end of match lap of honour.
So to all you Royle bashers - get your facts straight before slating him

Well at the end of the day Crikes, I amongst many others belive Joe should have made him go out 5 minutes. Yes a lot of fans stayed
behind but I guess there was also a lot of other fans who not knowing the
situation may have left not knowing why??
I believe its the managers duty to ensure the fans had that privelage.
I bet your facts were not straight until you heard that either. How are
people supposed to react, Well I guess t noise from Portman road
made that feeling clear at the time.
Its always easy to make judgement after the event but what was expected did not happen for ALL the fans
Even the commentators remarked the same way and you
would have thought they would have been informed of it.

Must admit I was surprised Jim did not come out for a few minutes in the 2nd half.
Another mystery was the minute silence for John Lyall as no announcement was made before it started and at the end the announcer said almost as an after thought what it was for.
Only could happen at ITFC!

Too true Shed, never short of surprises at PR

Much as I feel unclean defending the big fat one, but Jim Magilton was on Radio Suffolk after the match, and said the Joe offered to let him go out in the second half, but Jim agreed he'd been playing a right stinker, and said he'd prefer to come off.

According to writergal on the ITFC website this is the reason for Jim being taken off at half-time.
"I thought that was odd but apparently Jim wanted to be taken off at half time so as not to steal the limelight from Jaime Peters! A legend and a gent - going to miss you, Jim!"

Myself, Lewis and Dubz asked Jim about this and he said that it was 100% his decision...his words were "I wanted us to win the game and I wanted Jamie to start rather than come on as I was leaving the field...I also didnt want to 'milk' the situation.... the other lads said that I should go on for an ovation but I felt it was the wrong thing to do for the game"...I told him that the fans were gutted and begging for him to go back on...I think he honestly was thinking of the game first and formost.

I spoke to Jim too last night and asked him why he decided to go off at half time he said "we still had a game to win for you the fans, that was more important to me, and I wanted young Jamie to get a whole half"

I was dead cheesed off I can tell you - we all missed it ...since we were coming back up from the bar when I realised they had held up the number 7 for a sub...The only thing I can think of is Jim actually "requested" that type of substitution ..cos it really didnt make sense did it ?
Also the minutes silence was a bit of a balls up wasnt it ?...I think the ref started proceedings before Rob Chandler could announce anything !
...."p*ss up in a brewery" springs to mind....thank God this bloody awful season is close to ending !!

Unbelievable!!!!! So who's the manager, Royle or Magilton?? It's bad enough that a player tries to dictate to a manager, even worse when the manager is so weak he allows it. Royle out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on its Jim's last game, I think its nice of Royle to respect his wishes. Anyway, he made the change and then we went on to win 2-0. Seems he cant win.
Rossi, I was really pissed off at the game when it happened and I was slagging off Royle probably more than you, but now I know its Jim's choice, I made a mistake, give Royle a break!

Totally agree, and would add that Joe could not have spoken more warmly or sincerely about Jim at the awards night. So to be fair to Joe we all assumed wrong this time.

Agreed only that we did assume wrong at the time, and in all
honesty how else were we supposed to think. There have been so many
'incidents' unexplained at PR this season. And whilst a few of you
were able to go to the players awards its the ones who did not
go who would not perhaps even know now of the real story behind this.
Anyways as the matter has been cleared up and clarified by all
all I can say is Good Luck Jim, Thanks for being a great servant
and hope the future brings you sucess. A thanks for the chat it
the Kesgrave Kitchen the day after we got promoted to the Pemiership.

Indeed EB the rest is all bollocks really. Good luck Jim. IMHO a legend who might have had a couple of less worthy seasons at the end but was 110% committed to ITFC.
It will be some years before we see your like again.
