Why this site is going down hill......
Read most of the posts toady, I was unfortunately at the game and once again the do gooders and middle of the road leftie keep your head buried in the sand brigade are out in full force......
this season was a disgrace, from begining to the dismal lack lusture end... who is th blame, all of them and who else is to blame all the people who keep defending this sh*t...
Next season, more of the same excuses, more sales and more fans fleeced of hard earned cash.
There, shoot me down and gang up on somebody who dares to say everything is not OK.

i can name probably 5 members who defend royle and to a lesser extent sheepy no matter what, but the rest are as annoyed and fed up as urself
one thing that was clearly evident on sunday was that the players just couldnt be arsed, even at the end they only popped over to us for about 30 seconds and BFJ couldnt be arsed full stop, to me that is the story of our season

Well, Just because the as you say ' doo gooder lefties, actually post
their comments, however comical they may be, I for one dont agree
that it is the majority opinion on here..
I believe that the MAJORITY of fans expected mid table medicority this season, alas thats what we got, however there was a time 2 - 3 months ago when it was possible for us to get in the Play-offs. That did not happen
because players and management got it all wrong.
TB.COM is a place where whoever you are, or whatever you see thru rose tinted spectacles can be expressed, Its a place where when I joined
you were OK playing for ITFC if you had a good looking as* etc etc.
Since Toby started his comicness stuff on here, there have been more than a few comedians contributuing with other material.
End of the day Munty if they wont blame Joe or the players they
can blame TB.com

As Riv quite rightly said the majority agree with you (I know I do) and before the season started I predicted 9-10th place for us....it turned out even worse.I have bitche don for absloute years about our defence and now more seem to have noticed the same thing, especially as we have not been so prolific up at the other end.Royle has for me come to the end of ideas and the players dont / cant respond to the commands their given before they go out on the field.

So because people have different opinions to yours the site is "going down hill" - thats crazy talk.Munty wrote:Read most of the posts toady, I was unfortunately at the game and once again the do gooders and middle of the road leftie keep your head buried in the sand brigade are out in full force......

Everyone has different opinions and thats what makes this a FANTASTIC site. Rossi is very anti Royle, I'm more Pro Royle, Luke very pro Currie and bluebird is extremely anti Currie, but we all come on here to express our views and opinions. If everyone thought like each other what would be the point to any forum? There wouldnt be!
What I will say about the football side of things, if you dont enjoy watching Ipswich Town, if your heart isnt in it because the passion is gone, give up going, dont support town, go take up another hobby. Thats the harsh bottom line. I think the majority of us all support a football team for fun and enjoyment and I dont think anyone will disagree with you on how poor this season has been, but thats football. When we're good again maybe next season, maybe in 10 or 20 seasons we'll all appreciate the good times because we'll remember times like these. You have you take the rough with the smooth in football just as much as you have to in the real world.

For what its worth anything which can produce a response or reaction is a good thing - there is nothing worse than a site which has nothing to talk about or is just plain dead!!!
At times I get well annoyed with Dazza's pro views on the club and all associated with it - but it is his views and hey at least it gives me something to retaliate too.
Notably Lukes stats for worshipping Currie get right up my nose - but hey it is his view and can be a good reading between him and BB.
Personally I have lost faith in Royle this season. No one can deny injuries have been the worst I can ever remember at the club. However the lack of commitment and ideas from the sides picked defy belief. We knew this season was one of struggle and re-building - however we still wanted to see our boys give it 100% - this IMO would have seen us competing to get into the play-offs. Instead we dissapeared off the scene completely.
I won't even start with Sheepshanks cause I have already wasted 3 years trying to get the bloke out LOL.

I've read on the Evening Star web site that they refer to people who use the various message boards as 'The noisy minority'. So it seem's, if you want 'middle of the road leftie views', then read the blinkered local Ipswich press, giving the impression to the more guallable Ipswich supporter, alls well at Portman road.
But what we have here at TB, is a good cross section of view points, and long may it continue, and if this web site (and others) puts a bit of pressure on the 'powers that be' and ruffles a few feathers at Portman road and the local press, again long may tha continue also.

dazza, thats not the 1st time ive seen say that, why should people not have an opinion without u saying if u dont like it then stop going? as u have pointed out numerous times this is a forum built on opinion, we all want the same for ITFC, as far as im concerned if someone wants to slag off the teams lack off effort or complete lack of passion then this is the ideal place to do it, just the same as its the best place to do it when praising the teamDazza wrote:So because people have different opinions to yours the site is "going down hill" - thats crazy talk.Munty wrote:Read most of the posts toady, I was unfortunately at the game and once again the do gooders and middle of the road leftie keep your head buried in the sand brigade are out in full force......

Not telling them to do anything, its my opinion. I personally dont see the point in a hobby if you're not enjoying it. Hobbies are meant to be "fun". T.Com is what WE the fans make it !
Town have had a crap season theress no denying it.But it was not unexpecetd by many ...I suggested we would do well to finish 10th this season.
As the cack has hit the fan each and everyone of us has had our say - "opinions" / "debate" are great for the soul and allow us an outlet and also allows us to take part in what our Club s doing during the season.
But I bet we are all unanimous in saying ....."ferkin glad this bloody season is over" !

Yes, I have walked out of grounds annoyed, but as I said earlier thats football, one week you play like the best team in the world and the next you cant beat anyone.Riviera wrote:well its an expensive hobby, so IMHO if u pays ur money ur entitled to have ur say

Sure, it was annoying to lose against teams like Hull, Cardiff and Burnley earlier in the season and have everyone saying we're going down, but then it made the victory at Carrot Road that even more special when we just won against our dirty arch rivals in the dying seconds of the game, we were all singing the bouncy bounby song and suddenly the play offs were do-able and everyone was on a high.
We also had a fantastic game at Southampton away where we saw some superb football and the singing was amazing for the whole 90 minutes, the Southampton game at home was fantastic too (the floodlights, the songs about Sheepshanks not paying the bill and the good old Powergen chant) and the football was extremely entertaining too even if we did draw. The recent Derbey game with the mexian wave was a really good way to end the season on. Palace away I enjoyed so much, we were really loud (as we always are at Palace away) and played some good football. The Millwall away game was another cracker as they always seem to be at the den.
I think a lot of people have forgotton that we've had a "few" really good times this season and at times like this you've got to remember those rare good times even if the overall result of the season is well below par. I think I'm a born optimist...

For me I've enjoyed bits of this season and I dont regret getting my S/T and I dont regret goin to the away games. I'm absolutely gutted that I'm going to miss next season. I really wish I could somehow do travelling and keep my season ticket.

hey dude why don't you just chill out man? everyone knows it's been a sh*t season but there's no need to be suicidal about it. no one is denying that we've witnessed some poor performances this season. sometimes I think Town fans act like spoilt brats.. just coz we won a european trophy way back when doesn't mean it's our God given right to play amazing football every year. a bad season was always likely, and so it has happened. now we move on and start looking forward to next season. it's not like we've been relegated. it's not like we're nottingham forest. now those guys really have got a reason to be miffed. I suggest you take a chill pill munty and start worrying about more important things, like whether you should have peanut butter or marmite on your next slice of toast.Munty wrote:Read most of the posts toady, I was unfortunately at the game and once again the do gooders and middle of the road leftie keep your head buried in the sand brigade are out in full force......

Re: Why this site is going down hill......
that's exactly it dazza, spot on. suppporting a football team is about loyalty, and showing strength in times of adversity. take Bristol Rovers, now this club has suffered some serious sh*t over the years, but the fans still go and pay their money. they still sing their hearts out because that's what football is all about. hell, I even think Gasheads enjoy the fact that their team is crap!Dazza wrote: What I will say about the football side of things, if you dont enjoy watching Ipswich Town, if your heart isnt in it because the passion is gone, give up going, dont support town, go take up another hobby. This site has been going downhill for the past year, when i 1st came on here it was really good, and if u had an opinion on town then u voiced it, and people USED to be ok with that, now all u get is fickle people saying your not entitled to an opinion, and the thing that pisses me off the most is that the people that do that dont ever go to any games

Don't take any notice Jonno. One of the great things is that here you can enjoy a frank exchange of views between people who almost certainly wouldn't give each other the time of day outside.
Real mix of characters here and a little (only a little) friction just makes the place more lively.
And don't forget, forums like this are always better when we're winning.
