If Bent makes two full competitive appearances for England.

Town chief executive Derek Bowden has revealed that the Blues will receive £200,000 on each of Darren Bent's first two competitive England appearances, double the figure previously reported. Bent looks certain to be named in Sven-Goran Eriksson's squad for Germany.

Bowden told the club site: "We would get a substantial fee if Darren plays in Germany.

"We had various additions built in to the original agreement with Charlton and the club will pick up £200,000 if Darren plays in a World Cup or European Championship game, and the same again if he plays in a second match.

"It will be an unbudgeted windfall ahead of the new season."

Bent left Portman Road for the Valley for an initial £2.5 million last summer.

Well if he makes the squad there's at least 200k coming our way. No doubt he'd be in the eleven against Trinidad and Tobago.

Very handy indeed. :)

Shed !..I'fd heard a while ago the fig was £250k for each appearance - so dunno which fig is right, but any dosh will come handy I guess !

btw...Donnachie has been quoted as saying "enough is enough" and its about time the Board gave them something to work with.A Club this size shouldnt be depending on players that should still be in the reserves learning their trade..etc.etc

He's not a happy bunny - cant say I blame him really !

I hope the dreaded money men see sense and release the dosh for players...its unbudgeted - and they'll get paid a lot quicker if we go up..(then again is that a good thing from their point of view??) They don't want to kill the club off (obviously) but we must be a shaky and regretable debtor....400,000 (Im of the view its 200,000 x 2 as well) would go a long way....thats another Parkin folks..sorry  couldnt resist
