I’m about 240 miles up the coast from where you will be Derick, we live in Moraira. I was pretty close to Mike earlier in the week at Cap Vermell in Mallorca and as he says it’s been a boiler. Today at home was 38° in the shade, hell knows what it was in the . Not looking forward to playing golf at 11am tomorrow morning, I think it’s buggy time. Enjoy your holiday Derick, hopefully the temperatures will be a little more pleasant than they’ve been this week.

I’d happily settle for 33° at the moment but hey no complaints from me, the sunshine is one of the many reasons we chose to relocate here.derick_ipsw wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2019 8:24 pmJust 33 degrees for us today very nice though.Charnwood wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 6:32 pmderick_ipsw wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2019 7:05 am

Re: NOW FOR PROMOTION
Maybe these comments from Lambert might put a bit of perspective on next season.
https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/lambert-sa ... -1-6146593
If - and a big if - we are going to challenge for promotion then it looks like we’re going to have to do it pretty much with our existing squad. We’ll have to see if our rock-bottom Championship side can turn things around in League 1. Jury’s out until we can get a number of games under our belt in League 1. The squad does appear to have a few holes and question marks there and if we are going with youth, then much of it depends on how they adapt and push on.
TBH.... many have praised our academy over the years, but maybe it’s the time to see if the kids are up to it.

Nooooooo, don't jinx it. Let's just say the team are going to be ok....... for starters! Quite a few, myself included, had Paul Hurst doing really well........ way better than McCarthys "mid table mediocrity show".

We will rise like a Phoenix from the flames......i have already done that sh*t.
If we get Huws back playing that will be like a new signing, only concern is the center of Defence but if we are scoring plenty we will be ok.

Tonight against Colchester we might start seeing who PL has in mind for the opening fixture. Also there is suppose to be 2000 Town fans going which is brilliant.

I’m not Mach-negative yet, but it’s time for this dark cloud to be lifted. f*ck it, I’ll start supporting my childhood team Liverpool. We’re long overdue for success and some luck! Cheer up number 9, one swallow does not make a summer. If you start supporting those thieving Bastards from merseyside then its time to stop following football.Any team that has the keys to the bank of the premiership should not be supported until "Town rise like a phoenix" oh for f*ck sake, i have got to stop saying that!!number 9 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:10 amnumber 9 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 2:57 amThe bricks of adversity are certainly stacking up. Change that thread title, Deeko....... now for survival.
At the injury rate, the players mates who are best at 5’s will be getting call ups.

I was thinking of having a good bet on us getting promotion with Norwood coming in, but now with all the injuries no established centre back looking likely and with right back not looking great and Judge most likely going no money being spent I think I might wait and see how things go over the first few matches.

If we target an early promotion in March, then it’s more likely Andy can pick up a cheap out-of-season flight to Rome.Andym wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 8:05 pmThe chances of us getting promotion are about the same as of me having sex with the Pope.Kerry Blue wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:49 pmI was thinking of having a good bet on us getting promotion with Norwood coming in, but now with all the injuries no established centre back looking likely and with right back not looking great and Judge most likely going no money being spent I think I might wait and see how things go over the first few matches.
Seriously, before the start of the season I would have bit the hand of for a top six finish - now I would be disappointed in anything less than top two.
Its still far too early in the season, but It’s up to us now not to lose this from here. We’ve got a strong squad still not firing on all cylinders, yet doing enough to win games. The quality of the opposition so far is a big factor.

Re: NOW FOR PROMOTION
I must admit I overestimated the quality of opposition in league 1. Some teams match us and some have outplayed us at times (which is why the Pope isn't getting too worried yet) but it is their inability to take chances that I didn't expect, and I would suggest that is why we are currently top. We have defended better and strengthened the fullback positions but we are still not convincing.
Don't get me wrong I'm enjoying the football and delighted with results and our position. And it's good to see a bit of a gap opening up at the top.
