Im going to stick up for Kenlock on this one. He’s got to improve his defending and awareness, but due to the fact Judge isn’t really a left sided player( only on paper... he goes everywhere), Kenlock doesn’t get much help down the left side. Knudsen had more assistance usually from Sears tracking back, for example.... and still we leaked goals. And that Dozzell second goal was really started from Kenlock, where he twice passed the ball out from defence, whereby Knudsen would have wellied it up to no-one.Andym wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 1:18 pmI agree. And I think the whole style of play / player mentality needs to be looked at.hallamblue wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 9:00 amI see the suggested players to keep etc , but I think Lambert will be culling the squad even more than that. I’m sure I heard somewhere a squad size of around 20. Now we still need some defenders and strikers to come in so space has to be made for these newbies. So some players suggested to keep , I can see being released. We need fresh blood in to freshen squad up, and the strikers we have had haven’t been up to the task. No place for sympathy I’m afraid.
On the few occasions I've managed to watch Luton on tv this season, they have achieved success by going at teams. It's not uncommon for them to have had 20 or more shots in a game. Their mentality has been to put the emphasis on attack, and if they concede it doesn't matter because they'll score more than they let in. I think it will let them down next season - as I think Norwich will find it similarly difficult in the prem. Neither side is good enough at the back for their new division.
I was delighted with the performance and the result on Sunday. But watch the highlights and hopefully you'll see what I mean about the style of play / mentality of our team.
Our first goal came about because we had players in the box from a free kick and Downmes got on the end of a loose ball. This only happens for us from set plays. Compare that to Leeds' second goal. It came from open play and they got 5 players in the box. For their first goal, the ball went down the wing and 3 of their players burst into the box.
Look carefully at our second goal. A lovely move. But. Chalobah and Quaner are both involved in the build up. Both of them stop moving the moment they have delivered their final pass. Only Judge makes an effort to get in the box to folow up. This has been opur problem for many years; the midfield don't get up inot the box in support.
So yes, we need to trim the squad. But we need to change atttudes. And i know everyone hates Knudsen and he doesn't want to play for us, but look where the goals came from on Sunday. We need a left back as well as a right back.

I agree we have to change our mentality, but it might mean we have to have to have a bit of patience with some players who are more likely to make mistakes if they’re more positive and take risks.
I thought we might of heard by now who was staying and who was not.derick_ipsw wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2019 1:52 pmToday's the day when the players will be told if they are staying or going. The squad has got to be trimmed we just have to many players. There may well be some shocks.
Congrats to Derrick in the Don Cup.... but could he be looking long-term for the longest running thread?derick_ipsw wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 12:33 pmWho out of the current squad (Not loans)do you think would leave or be sold if we were relegated? For me it would be:
Bart
Knudson
Chambers
Ward
Dozzell
Huws
Adeyemi
Sears.
Thanks Tang. Started this November 12th 2018 just wish we could of changed it earlier to the staying up thread.tangfastic wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 4:36 pmCongrats to Derrick in the Don Cup.... but could he be looking long-term for the longest running thread?derick_ipsw wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 12:33 pmWho out of the current squad (Not loans)do you think would leave or be sold if we were relegated? This started out as the Relegation thread, but Maybe in a years time this thread will have been re-named “ Champions” ... and then “ Double-promotion”. Keep it going.
Reminds of a old "Not the nine o clock news" sketch when the unions making there demands. My wife's recipe, my 14 year old daughter to be fazed in over the next 2 years, comfy chair taken home at weekends and some money. Really? You don't say, Lee. "Wages and things like that!"
Might be free transfers but they ain't playing for free.

Totally agree Tang. Much prefer to get Sunderland out of League 1 this season.tangfastic wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 8:47 amI see that Sunderland are through to the PO final beating Pompey.
Must admit, if Sunderland don’t make it up this year, I can see them being bigger favourites to go up next year. If we are genuinely among the top sides next year - big if - then I’d prefer Sunderland to get promoted as one less big fish. TBH.... there seems to be a trend in the last few seasons of clubs coming down who are competitive at the top end of League 1. And less of clubs spiraling downwards ( Coventry, Pompey, Blackpool).
League 1 and their play-offs has suddenly become a bit more of an interest to me for some reason.
Very pleased with that.derick_ipsw wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 11:05 amhttps://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2019/may/to ... ined-list/ Gerken to Leave Town along with Ward, Knudsen,Dawkins, Adeyemi and Spence. James Collins has been released to.
