So we got a game this night that seems to largely focus on Wayne Rooney's belated return or some misled hype farewell. Gets to parade around the field like some prize pig one final time but can't see the attraction myself. Of course this is in place of domestic issues where we'd all much rather be at, but we don't get to pick and choose when these damn international breaks occur.
Years past the United States could field players such as Tim Howard, Donovan, Eric Wynalda, Harkes, Moore and Agoos. All celebrated players who could provide indivual effort and awards but the new breed still continue to favor enthusiam and belief. Recent scores have been mixed, holding now Champions France to a draw was encouraging but well beaten by an impressive Colombian set-up also.
Not expecting to win tonight, in truth it's all rather immaterial : no prizes at stake and the winner gains zero, however tabloids invariably go into a frenzy if intended results go by the wayside. South Africa 2010 being one such example. Look out for some kids coming through that may feature tonight such as Yedin and Gooch who have been involved at English League level recent. We still don't possess a full-time coach such as Arena hasn't been replaced in a proper capacity since the faliure to qualify for this summers World Cup event.

With you SJ. I won't watch it because of this Rooney farce. I'll remember him most for being a fantastic teenage talent who never lived up to it.... and the "Auld Slapper" incident.

Never rated the prat either as a footballer or a person, he would have been more at home under the control of P.T. Barnum.
