Get all our loan players back. Send all the players we have on loan back to there clubs sell Knudsen and start playing the players who have a vested interest in Ipswich Town fc.

Find the above hard to argue with. Though I'd keep Pennington.

Excellent! Hopefully Lambert digs deep into his pocket and pays for a one way plane ticket to Denmark.

Sounds like Will Keane might be our next signing?? Big lad, but hardly prolific in front of goal. Maybe a move is what he needs to reignite his career?? Lets hope so. Gives us options I suppose

I don't think we are in any position to be picky. We are lucky anyone would come here given our current situtation

Should fit in well then. Only scored 6 goals in 45 starts and 33 games from the bench in his career as well.

I'm happy if we get Keane in, as long as he stays fit. He does seem to have lost his way as far as scoring goals but he was prolific as a youngster at Man Utd and let's face it D Murphy wasn't prolific as a goal scorer until he had his great season for us. Keane has pedigree and is probably a better footballer than Murphy. Let's hope he can start scoring goals again.

Aussie Callum Elder is a very athletic left wing back, likes to get up the left flank into attacking positions, very similar to Tyrone Ming's playing style, he has Championship experience with Brentford and Barnsley loans, but Leicester keep him on their books for his potential future LB, so will probably be a better player than Jonas Knudsen, :D :D
So would a Three legged Donkey with Piles & Ricketts.

Who do they play for?

A good post Liz and while I agree with a lot of it there is also some which I don't agree with. At the time I too hated the "Be careful what you wish for" comment and as you know I, more than anyone else wanted Hurst to come in, however those that said BCWYWF clearly now have a point, it is all well and good saying the football has improved, it may be a bit more pleasing on the eye (that is all about opinion), but it is definitely every bit as depressing week after week coming home from the likes of Middlesbrough, Forest, Stoke etc having been beaten again.

I also think Town fans very much played a part in the eventual demise of MM, it started well before last season too and it was far more frequent than the Brentford incident you mention where Brentford staff actually had to escort MM from the stadium to the Town coach due to abuse from Town fans, I witnessed really volatile reactions at Lincoln too where we were dire but still it does not excuse fans trying to get on the pitch to have a go at Town players, then there was the famous episode at QPR where the so called fabulous fans decided to boo and insult Jonathon Douglas after he was brought on, it was so bad that Brett Pittman turned to the Town fans and held out his hands as if to say WTF are you lot doing ?? It was embarrassing and shameful, Douglas got this week after week and it wasn't just a minority. We had the MM "f*ck Off" rant at Norwich when we scored and you know what I applaud him for it, bloody morons booing a substitution in the middle of a local derby when the score was 0-0 and we are fighting to win the game, the self same two faced twats celebrating more than anyone when Chambo scored, it makes me sick in truth.

I rareley miss a game and last season virtually every game from mid season onwards had Town fans singing anti Mick songs week after week, "your football is sh*t" being a particular favourite and while I can get the frustration they are so thick they don't see how counter productive it is during a game, it became hard to play in front of, so much so players remarked on how better it became playing away from Portman Road. I can also recall the incident where Trystan Nydam was brought on one game and dared to make a mistake, to then be jeered and booed by his own fans was disgraceful, a kid for christ sake, people will play these things down but I saw it often, bottom line is the fans did play a part in his demise and maybe it had to be forced but the way it was done was wrong, then when Mick dared to go back at them they cried like snowflakes, couldn't take it, they need to man up and while I get he shouldn't have snapped in his position I totally understand it.

Do I wish we had kept Mick instead of trying Hurst ?? Yes I actually do cus the move has sent us down in all probability and despite what some think we will be down for a long long time, unless Evans sells up which I don't see happening anytime soon. Paul Lambert is a breath of fresh air and hopefully he will perform a miracle but I doubt it, will he stay if we go down ? my thoughts are that he will be gone quicker than a rat up a drainpipe, I hope I am wrong. It will be interesting to see how many of these fans who wanted change come what may are still at Portman Road next August for our first home game against possibly Southend, Rochdale or Doncaster, my guess under 10K, great support in times of trouble.
I agree with everything here.

Unless loans are on the potential of end of term signing can't see the point now.

We are dead and buried and need to work on a team to get us out of league one BDQ.

A tough one depending on who stays and who goes but we need to play our own for the rest of the season.

Sounds a bit defeatist I know but the work starts now.

Sounds like Keane is a done deal and likely to be confirmed today. He doesn't fill me with any optimism at all, his record is woeful to be fair, better off sticking with Jackson and Harrison than him.

Seen we are also linked with Pilkington, he could be useful for the rest of the season, I just worry that hes hardly played for 2 seasons now, hasn't made a single appearance this season so you have to be concerned what level of fitness he actually has and is he ready but then again this is probably the market we are currently shopping in, he does at least have some experience.

Knowing our luck the word out will be followed by the words rest of the season after playing one game.

Its not what we all had aspirations for but what do we really expect? We are not a Premier League (or indeed Championship) force any more so I am struggling to think of who else we think we could get? Maybe we look for some "gems' from the lower leagues?..... oh....bugger... For me, if PL thinks he can help us, I believe he must be one of those on his list that we can actually sign so I am fully behind him. Welcome, Will and I hope you make us eat our words and want sign you full time. Come on guys - glass half full? - there will be plenty of time for wallowing in depression in May, June and July! :o

I saw nothing wrong with Ellis Harrison's performance Tuesday, I would stick with him, he needs a run in the team. If its goals we're after Keane doesn't fit the bill.

Maybe its not a "goal machine" we are signing him as, Mike? If he can hold the ball up and add some height/strength to the front line, I see that as a plus. Maybe PL sees that too? Either way, I would rather have some options cos whilst Harrison has indeed looked useful, he is not (yet) the answer and we have no time to wait for him to become that answer. Someone (who PL thinks can help) is better than no-one in my view. I sense your pain since Saturday - I think it really kicked a few of us (you and I included) in the teeth so your usual optimism/semi-optimism tank seems to be flashing red. Lets hope we can start to refuel ourselves with some wins soon. Time will tell!

Yeah been a bit down this week mate, will bounce back soon but the fact we are going down has me feeling plan for League One next season with the likes of Harrison and Jackson and even Morris. We aint getting out of this so why bring in second rate players like Keane and Pilkington, they are nowhere need good enough to drag us to safety, had it been the likes of Marshall, Gestede, Carter-Vickers etc etc then yes maybe but I'm not feeling it with what we are able to bring in.

We need to make our defence tighter than a ducks arse, and CCV would fit that bill, so come on Cameron get your as* over here pronto, PL knows what he wants in strength for the defence and midfield, if he stops the sloppiness of giving away stupid goals from set pieces, we can start to climb out of trouble, that was Micks philosophy don't ship goals and points will follow, we need a proven striker like Murphy one who can hold and lay the ball off, plus get a few goals to boot, and hopefully Freddie can clean up his act and start popping a few in the net, also I would sooner we had our keeper with hardly naff all to do in the game, than one who is working his nuts off because of our sloppy defence, I am near 100% sure PL can achieve his aims very quickly, and drag us up the table to mid place safety, we have to trust in PL to bring in the right players, even though on a temporary basis to get the job done.

to put this into context, we are in the worst position any team has ever been in the Championship since its rebrand. Only one team has ever stayed up with less than 21 points at the 25 match mark, I believe they had about 18, possibly 19. We have 15 points after 26 games. In fact only a handful of teams have survived with 21 points after 25 games so I think we are kidding ourselves if we really feel we are getting out of this.

I look at the signings we are making and think the club is planning for League 1 next year, a defender from Leicester who hasn't got a single appearance but sounds like hes not too bad, won League 1 with Wigan. Add to that Will Keane who has got a terrible goal record for a striker but is out of contract with Hull at the end of the season, hasn't cut it in the Championship but perhaps could be a bit better in League 1. I think we are taking a look at him and seeing if we think he could fit the bill next year.

Had we have been within touching distance of the teams above I think Evans may have taken some bigger risks and tried to pay decent money for short term deals for the likes of Gestede etc. who have done it in this league and tried all we can to keep us up. The club cant come out and say publically we are down but equally I think we would be foolish to not be thinking it internally and thinking ahead with one eye on next season. We still have to fight to get out of it but the odds are well and truly stacked against us, it would take a miracle to stay up.
