Walking around a retail park with wife? Or ——> Watch ITFC for a tenner! Should’ve been 38,011 at that game!

I was there it was quite scary I was only a kid.Shed on tour wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 1:41 pmI was at the 38,010 game against Leeds and would say that if I was the size then that I am now then our record attendance would only be 38,000.

Agreed, looking back now it does make you wonder how there were not more tragedies back in those days.derick_ipsw wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 2:49 pmI was there it was quite scary I was only a kid.Shed on tour wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 1:41 pmI was at the 38,010 game against Leeds and would say that if I was the size then that I am now then our record attendance would only be 38,000.

I was a teenager (wow i am old) and also went to the replay(s) and at filbert street where the leicester fans were supporting ipswich too. I went to the round before as well (v liverpool) where we had 34k and beat them 1-0. If you look at their side clemence, neal, thompson, keegan, toshack, heighway, callaghan - they were immense - and so were we to beat them! I went into the north stand with a mate wearing my scarf and it was a sea of red and white (pre-ticket days and liverpool 'took' the stand). They took my scarf off me and burned it at the back of the stand. My mate and i had to jump out of the stand at the front and run over into the west stand to escape! Liverpool fans were in town too - asking people the time and if you didnt answer in a liverpudlian accent, you got chased and a kicking! What amazes me so much is that with that liverpool team of legends, we beat teams like that every week and at the time, i had no idea how good it was to be a town fan... i feel for those of later generations who can probably not relate to those stories. How lucky we were!

Due to work only went to the game at PR and the 3-2 at Filbert Street, Wood’s banana shot will always live in the memory.Blue Wilf wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 5:06 pmI was a teenager (wow i am old) and also went to the replay(s) and at filbert street where the leicester fans were supporting ipswich too. Went to all our other FA Cup games that season and the defeat in the Semi-Final replay at Stamford Bridge is still the lowest I have ever felt after a Town game. To say I was gutted would be a massive understatement.

Didn't Mick Mills score a late late winner in that 1-0 win over Liverpool ? I seem to remember it as I was there lol
