Right: who would you keep ?

I’ve “borrowed” this post from twtd, mainly cos he’s done the hard work of list all the players .
Looks pretty daunting doesn’t it, if you’re the manager who has to tip it all up and start again: which is what Paul Lambert will be doing .

Who would YOU want to keep ?

........................................................

Correct me if I have missed a couple out, but I make it 48 (42 excluding loanees) players on a professional contract at the club (including loans separately below).

ON LOAN - Matthew Pennington; Callum Elder; James Bree; Trevoh Chalobah; Will Keane; Collin Quaner

GOALKEEPERS - Dean Gerken; Harry Wright; Bartosz Bialkowski

FULL BACKS - Janoi Donacien (OOL to Accrington); Jonas Knudsen; Jordan Spence; Josh Emmanuel; Myles Kenlock

CENTRE BACKS - Luke Chambers; Toto Nsiala; Luke Woolfenden (OOL to Swindon); James Collins

MIDFIELDERS - Cole Skuse; Jon Nolan; Teddy Bishop; Tristan Nydam; Flynn Downes; Andre Dozzell; Tom Adeyemi; Alan Judge; Emyr Huws

WINGERS - Gwion Edwards; Danny Rowe (OOL to Lincoln); Grant Ward; Jordan Roberts (OOL to Lincoln); Simon Dawkins; Jack Lankester

FORWARDS - Kayden Jackson; Ellis Harrison; Freddie Sears

YOUNGSTERS ON PRO DEALS - Corrie Ndaba; Barry Cotter; Pat Webber; Chris Smith; Bailey Clements; Idris El Mizounu; Brett McGavin; Armando Dobra; Kai Brown; Ben Morris; Ben Folami; Aaron Drinan

Worth noting those out of contract in the summer (without checking if they have an extension clause in their contract) are: Dean Gerken; Jonas Knudsen; Luke Chambers; Jordan Spence; Josh Emmanuel; Myles Kenlock; James Collins; Tom Adeyemi; Alan Judge; Grant Ward; Simon Dawkins; Freddie Sears; Chris Smith

It'll be interesting to see how many of these Lambert will have in his plans for rebuilding this squad. For me, I'm pleased he's got the youngsters signed up on long term deals, but they need to go and get first team experience in the summer transfer window, or If Lambert thinks you're good enough, get regular minutes for the first team.

The main concern is just how big the squad is, and cutting that down to no more than 22-26 players by the end of the summer window, which will include new signings too. I trust Lambert. 100% believe he's the right manager for youngsters to learn off and be brought through, as well as recreating a winning mentality and keeping this positive morale around the club to get us back up to the Championship.

We've already done a poll on this Liz a while back although peoples views may well have changed.

The only thing is that poll didn’t take in ALL the professionals on our books .

No the kids are not included as you say but I suspect they will all be remaining as they are all signing new contracts, I think they are a big part of the future.

Very nice, calm and guided headed goal by Luke Woolfenden for Swindon v Colchester on Saturday. Just watched that on the SkyApp. Nice one, Luke.

He looked really assured away to Reading last game of last season when we won 4-0. I did think he may have been one to make the breakthrough this campaign
