Bolton Wanderers

Post by ashfordblue » Wed Mar 20, 2019 10:25 pm

 It would be a real shame if Bolton go to the wall this week through bad debts, after being one of the first of 12 teams to form the football league, they cant find a buyer to take on the huge debts, owe the taxman £1.2 million in taxes, cant pay the players or staff, we've had some real humdinger matches against the trotters, like the 1st and 2nd legs of the play offs were a classic, they are for sale at £25 million plus all the other additions of around 1.5 million, so if they are expelled from the football league only two teams go down to Div 1, all points taken against them to be nulled, I do hope they come through this and find a saviour, but I wont hold my breath.

Exactly where we would have been without the arrival of Marcus Evans. Food for thought.

Question is do I risk a tenner on two tickets for a game that might not happen given their next court date is 3 days before our visit :?

The issue is so easy to overlook, by that I mean we concentrate so much on our team business we often fail to see what is occurring elsewhere.

One of the founder members back in the 19th century if correct, a team rich in history but haven't been up to much in recent time. I'd expect them to survive and whatever issues there are to eventually right themselves. Going back to League One at the first attempt which will hurt them but they simply haven't been good enough to be of second league status this season. Along with ourselves also.

The idea of Bolton ceasing to exist seems too fanciful, may be in a spot of trouble but not going the way of dinosaurs any time soon.

They have a buyer lined up. Just needs to share his stake in another club first allegedly. They will be fine.

Funnily enough I can just spend the tenner I got back from the Wigan game when they suddenly decided U18 and all concession tickets were free!

No idea if it was Wigan or Town that did that, but fair play and thank you very much :D
