Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
For the time being, I’m backing Kenlock as he’s learning his game. He’s taking a lot of flak at the moment, but Knudsen was given 3 1/2 seasons in that position, irrespective of mistakes and poor performances. This is the first run he’s had in the side. I believe you can be coached the defensive side of game, so hopefully he’ll improve. He’s made mistakes from his own game (name a defender who didn’t) but many times he’s been doubled up on as we didn’t seem to have much cover or balance on the left.

Garbutt is primarily a left-back - and that appears where Lambert plans to use him - but finished last season playing at left wing for his last loan side Oxford.
"If players can do it then that’s great but I know where I want to play him,” the Blues manager continued.

Seems we're interested in Burys Captain

Seemingly, if he gives 2 weeks notice, he can leave on a free

Don’t know either of them, but Thompson looks as if he’s had a good season and is younger... and wasn’t released because he couldn’t get in a League 2 team. On that alone, I’d plump for Thompson.

Kenlock sign's three year deal with a one year option, he must have been given assurances I would think.

Tbh I dont think I care . He’s hardly shown himself in games when he has played . Mind you if we do sell, get s good price .
Ps: The only thing that makes me doubt this rumour is that. I can’t see Dozzell senior ever wanting his son to play for the scum!

Probably bollocks... I can’t see a PL team paying big bucks for a player who has never bossed a game, but looks classy in small doses.

Funnily enough, I heard exactly the same rumour last week. I brushed it off as just that - a rumour. For me, I am not hugely concerned if he goes or where he goes. If that lot up the road want to pay silly money for what is really a pretty lightweight and unproven player, bring it on!

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
He seems a good age and apparently was a significant player in Bury’s promotion. If it wasn’t for Bury’s financial situation he’d be either an important player for them in League 1 or he’d be commanding a reasonable transfer fee. We’ve got a released Lincoln defender on trial (who might play tonight) and who is causing a bit of a meltdown on TWTD as it looks like we could be picking up Lincoln’s cast-off’s. The Bury player on paper looks a better bet. I’d like to think we could offer the guy a decent contract to come here. Who knows .... maybe the ex-Lincoln player is impressing on trial.hallamblue wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2019 8:36 amBury defender & Club Captain ..... signing for Town???

Could all lead to nothing.... but we need a CB.

A piece about the continued interest in Alan Judge from QPR.
https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/paul-lambe ... -1-6171197
Bit worrying - would have liked Lambert to have killed that dead. Have a feeling Judge would fancy a move to QPR for family reasons.

I've had a feeling all along that he will depart and this does little to change my mind tbh.

well if Town do sell, and / or the player makes it clear he wants Championship football , I just hope we get a good deal. but that's football I guess.

Do QPR have the money?
Also Lambert says he did well for us, I would differ in that he did not keep us up. So in reality he played well for us and the club did a lot for him. I would hope with the arrival of Norwood he sees the opportunity to do something this season and if it’s not working out he can go in January. Playing in L1 will not have a negative impact on his international chances.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
I agree with you, I think Judge owes Town tbh. But footballers will go for the highest level of football they can get understandably.
QPR (as a result of FFP rules flouting ), are now paying the penalty for that, and do not have the money to splash , hence their daft offer. They can ask, but as Lambert states , it’s well short our our valuation of the player and the player “ will not simply be walking out the door”.
The only problem I can envisage is this speculation will unsettle Judge, and he would be keen to now move on, just as Bart appears to want too. Fine, just get good money for them, we don’t have to seek Judge, bu5 I suspect we would want to offload Barts wages.

Not sure how much QPR can afford, but the real issue is .... does Judge want to be here?
Staying in London maybe the clincher for him (settled family home in London) and also teaming up with Warburton again.
Personally, I don’t think we played him in the right position. I think He’s better behind the striker in a more central role and maybe he was expecting to be in that position and is a bit cheesed off. If he’s not happy and wants to go to QPR, then he’ll probably get his move.
Whatever we get for him it’s not going to be easy to find a replacement of his experience / quality.

According to Nixon a bid of 450k turned down but saying he wants to go, not good news with all our injured players.

There is little chance of Judge being here for the season ahead, if not QPR then someone else will come in for him.

Looking pretty ominous about Judge. If that happens, it’s pretty shitty on Judge’s part as he only signed a contract in April.
Doesn’t get much time to get a replacement - if indeed we actually will try.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
I don't think anybody else will come in for him. QPR are only doing so because of the Warburton connection. Lets be honest, he did not even score for us last season so i don't know what all the fuss is about. Just let him go, Danny Rowe can play where Judge does know problem.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread 2019/20 Season
So far as Judge getting a new contract last April, that was probably more for our benefit than his as it means we can get a reasonable fee for him when he goes. He's 30 and knows he hasn't got that many more seasons of Championship football left. I agree with BlueMike, he'll go if offered a chance of Championship football and I can't say I really blame him....which doesn't mean we should let him go on the cheap. My guess is that his value to a Championship side is between £500,000 and £750,000 and that is what we'll get. Whether it'll be re-invested in another player is another question.

Well I think Judge is/was a major part of Lambert’s plan. If he does go - then I hope we re-invest.
I think Judge is a Championship player, so I think it would be a blow. No point in saying he didn’t keep us up - when he came in it was Mission Impossible and we were playing Championship sides. A good player for League 1.

And now clubs including Norwich after Dozzell surely he wouldn't sign for them
Town have offered him improved deal.

Fine, if they want Judge it’ll cost them £1.5m !
Judge apparently wants to leave , so f*ck off I say. I saw enough of Rowe on Fri to see we already have a very good replacement.

All this shows is contracts aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. For players or managers.tangfastic wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:24 amLooking pretty ominous about Judge. If that happens, it’s pretty shitty on Judge’s part as he only signed a contract in April.

What price loyalty eh? f*ck off Judge if that’s his view , and the same for any other player who wants to leave.
