Pre-season tournament confirmed

Post by Tangfastic » Fri Jun 07, 2019 9:36 am

The pre-season tournament in Germany has been confirmed. We’ll play FC Fortuna Dusseldorf and FC Utrecht ( decent sides) as well as hosts SV Meppen ( third tier ... should be a piece of p*ss :) ).

Meppen’s just over the Dutch border. For me, it’s about a 2 1/2 - 3 hr drive.... think I might go.

A definite improvement on most of McCarthy’s pre season tosh against rubbish opponents. A generalisation I know but I’m much happier to see us playing competitive stuff before the season kicks off albeit low key.

Not familiar with the tournament name. In fact can't recall such an event. Still it's a competition to be won and would take some honor to come out on top over the other participating club sides.

We got Notts County and Colchester lined up also before the new season is upon us if reports are accurate. The team usually takes in a trip to Ireland to face off against some Gaelic League sides although this time they may just have omitted it.
