All sorted.
Just over 100 miles round trip for me. Bit better than the 600 miles round trip next Saturday.

Re: Southend
I went down to the shop at 9am ( club shop apparently it opens at 10pm which I didn’t know), to get Gillingham cup ticket. But fans were queueing down Portman road.
So I went away for half hour ( nipped to Sainsbury ), came back at 9.45am , an even bigger queue was there, and I thought, oh sod that I’ll come back tomorrow , but I stopped car and asked why they were queuing. Waiting for a bus was not the reply!! They were all waiting to get a Sarfend ticket . Unbelievable .... took me right back to SBR days and having to queue for tickets for some games!
You'd think fans would “ invest” in the Gold Card to ensure they get first refusal on scarce tickets- which will happen a lot this season I think.
So I’m back at club shop tomorrow to get my seat for Gillingham game next week

Yep, know exactly what you mean here, Hallamski. I couldn’t get tickets for places like Dumbarton and Stranraer when the Hibs were in the championship. Queues right around to Albion Road for Stranraer tickets?!

Re: Southend
Ultimate ticket holders? Are these the guys who were watching ITFC v Southend in 1937, Division Three South? That'll be why the tickets are scarce. The Zimmer frames count as another person.

Got mine
I ain't a season ticket holder so this was always going to be nigh on impossible to get a ticket. However one of my mates, the Gold Card member isn't going so he was able to help me out and I've got a ticket thanks to him.

I just hope the day trippers who don't normally go but have grabbed tickets off regulars open their mouths and get behind the team.

Re: Southend
These days, must admit, I’m a bit of a day tripper. My buddy text Wednesday...... “Aberdeen on Saturday mate, up for it?”
Only 240 round trip, but....... “Hmph, na, it’s ok mate,” (followed by a wee white lie) “working!”
I can’t be arsed travelling anymore for some reason. Years ago, travelled everywhere, even Hungary for a rare euro game. Motherwell, 30 minutes along the M8 is a struggle!

Re: Southend
If anything pisses me off it's people selling tickets on for a profit.
Can remember the 78 cup final when people were selling a particular voucher for large sums of money which had been given out earlier in the season at a match, as it was key for obtaining a ticket for the final. I happened to have a spare as a family member who had came to the game earlier in the season with me wasn't really that interested in football and just gave it to me.
Anyhow, there was someone who had followed the Town for years who had unfortunately missed out on getting this voucher as they couldn't attend the game that day and so I gave them my spare one for free. Lots of people told me I was mad as I could have made a fair amount of money for it but it never entered my head to do that and I was just pleased a true Town fan was able to get a ticket for the final.

Have to say I agree. I feel guilty as I buy a gold card so I can get tickets to the few away games I can get to.Shed on tour wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2019 5:41 pmIf anything pisses me off it's people selling tickets on for a profit.

But I wouldn't buy them and sell them on.
And I'll repeat my offer from earlier; if anyone here wants to use my gold card for games I'm not going to, I'm happy to let you.

You have no reason to feel guilty for purchasing a gold card as to get one you have to be a season ticket holder.
Like you I have purchased one but know I won’t be able to get to every away game.
