Re: Leasing Trophy draw....last 16
Hopefully a decent draw, a home game would be nice although we seem to have much better results playing away this season.
There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be thinking we could go all the way in this competition and have a great day out for the fans, probably their only hope of ever seeing Town play at Wembley.
Last season 5he final between Portsmouth and Sunderland attracted more than 85,000 fans, how good would that be.

But most of ours aren't interested in this cup so 500 of us will look a bit lost at Wembley.

Same as tickets for Euro 2020.
Loads of people say I don’t give a sh*t about the National side but when England’s group games are confirmed that they will be played at Wembley as well as semi-final and final if they should get that far thousands suddenly appear to be interested.

It is a bug bear of mine, no issue with people not being interested, I get that to a point but don't turn into day tripping glory hunters at the end of it all.

Don’t get me started about day trippers at Wembley.
At England games I have nearly had a selfie stick stuck up my nose, recently somebody asked me what number was Beckham? and best of all people coming in having purchased popcorn from the stalls on the concourse. Feck me I’m supposed to be at a football match not the bloody cinema!
Guess I must be getting like Victor Meldrew in my old age.

Well I kid you not some bright spark argued with me last night that it was "The" Tommy Smith that came on at half time, I said it can't possibly be he just won a header but in all seriousness they were not accepting that it wasn't, I gave up.

Re: Leasing Trophy draw....last 16
Tommy Smith was the best headerer of the ball at the Club to be fair. What he couldn’t do was kick the ball with his right foot at all. It ALWAYS ended up in the stands . He was so one footed , he was easy to target by opponents. McCarthy just made this worse by playing on the right side of central defence. .....well you do don’t you, when your CB is one footed and left foot dominant !!

Re: Leasing Trophy draw....last 16
Town have confirmed that the Leasing.com Trophy third round tie against Exeter City at St James’ Park will take place on Saturday 4th January (KO 3pm).
The Blues were previously without a League One fixture that weekend as they were down to host Fleetwood, who will be in FA Cup third round action that afternoon. Town exited the FA Cup at the hands of Coventry on Tuesday.
Tickets for the tie are priced at £10 for adults, £8 for seniors/students and £1 for under-18s. Ticket sales details will be announced in due course.
Fab news !!! Means I can go now without wasting 2 days holiday!!!
