Which village was that GnB ?
I'd guess at Worlingworth?
How did you work that out ? Or am I missing something ( as usual)......lol

I live in the next village. The pub has struggled to fjnd an owner, and I think is in a state of disrepair. Great shame. But we all but cheap booze from the supermarkets and moan when the pub shuts. Like we all buy from tax-avoiding sweatshops like Amazon and moan when half the high street shops are empty. I confess to buying cheap booze but refuse to buy from Amazon. They've even resorted to advertising to try and convince us they don't treat the workers like sh*t.....in which case let them join a union! Socialist rant over. 😂

It’s hard not to buy things online where Amazon doesn’t come up .

£3 million for Woolfie?
https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/blades-set ... -1-6465024

Wouldn't want to see him go but doubt if we could get much more given his limited experience. And we would definitely need to spend on a replacement.
Nowhere near enough. The longer we keep him the greater the price will be. Because of his potential I would think 7-10 million.

I think Webster was around the 3 million mark, Woolfy is a far better player and has greater potential.

If Sheffield Utd say he’s unproven we should tell them to find someone else with more experience. We have no need to sell.

Stuart Watson
@Stuart_Watson
Paul Lambert pleased with a point in difficult conditions. On reported #sufc interest in Luke Woolfenden, he scoffs at £3m link. Says 'you can stick another three in front of that... £3m doesn't even buy you a flake these days'. #itfc

Now there’s a headline:

“League one Ipswich Town defender goes for £33M as Lambert gets Costco Card to find cheaper chocolate.”

As much as I like Lambert's comments regarding Woolfy it will be down to Evans, pure and simple.

That maybe true, but financially ME has no reason to sell, so I think it will be a purely football decision. We sat tight with judge and I’m sure we will do the same again.

ME & Pl will have a shared valuation in mind, they may value the player differently but I’m sure they would find common ground

Surely Evans has to weigh up the financial implications of staying in League 1 versus going up. Do we really need to sell Woolfy now? Especially on the cheap.

If he’s the player we think he is then he increases our chances of going up and his value will increase a great deal over the next season or two. And we will have a stronger negotiating hand if we’re a Championship side.

I don’t think we neccasarily have to bring in new players. I think we can get promotion with this group of players and improvements can be made on the training pitch and by selecting the right players. I don’t think the quality is that good in League 1 and we should be able to work with what we’ve got. So, on that front, I don’t think we need to sell to buy.

Agree with all of that Tang and I sure as hell do not want to lose the likes of Woolfy and Downes, I am just worried about Evans track record in this area, hopefully Lambo has reigned him in somewhat.

If Evans sells and we don’t get promoted the fans will desert us in their thousands. I’m pretty sure Evans will want to avoid that scenario like the plague.

Woolfy’s value won’t go down between now and the summer although it could go up, selling now makes no sense whatsoever but could prove disastrous.

Andy, do you think Evans would seriously rebuff an offer of say around 6 Million ? I would be worried and although that sounds a lot to us his value could rocket making it peanuts.

I can see if Evans does overrule PL he will walk, even though he is on contract, we have no need to sell only to line ME pockets and PL wont have that when he is trying to build a decent squad. Unless the offer is too good to turn down, and if they double it, it does come more possible.

Well that's my theory lol.

I know Evans hasn’t hit s good track record in the past, but he’s declined big offers in the past (Didsy) .

I’m nervous like all other Town fans regarding Downes and Woolfie, but I think it would beggar belief that he’d go against the supposed plan to build the Club around our youngsters . Lambert has a very specific job on the go right now , so unless the plan is to “ sacrifice “ one of our Crown Jewels with aim to reinvest that money in the squad I cant see I’d selling , unless it really is silly money .

As had been said we have a squad good enough to get out of this division without cashing in. But if we go go up we will need some better players for the Championship- then I could see us cashing in on one of our kids to build at the next level.

We lost 9 million being relegated last season so I assume if (when) we go back it's worth 9 million so why would we sell Wolfie for three and maybe miss getting promoted.

Agree we cash in now for less, attracting championship players to L1 will be tough. Hang on until the summer let the stock rise, if we are promoted we can then attract potentially better players whilst having more money to do so.

Latest news from Portman Road suggests Janoi Donacien could be on his way to another League One side. Just hope we can recover the £750k we allegedly paid for him.

Unless weve got a replacement lined up, I can’t see him leaving. KVY’s injured and Edwards is a stand-in at RWB. I don’t think Lambert rates him, but he’s cover for now.

If he did leave, I can’t see us getting anywhere near 750 K. He’s gone backwards and we’ve dropped a division since we bought him.

I know he is getting on but I thought Simeon Jackson could have done a job for us this season ex Norwich City, and a few other clubs

Can’t see us selling Donacian tbh. We have very little cover for Right back as it is. I just wish KVY would hurry up and return. The Club said they were “ being cautious with him”.

Edwards is on 9 yellow cards. One more and he gets a two match ban. He surely will get another yellow before KVY is fit again, so I’d think we would expect to see Donacien step in for a couple of games.
I wouldn’t have a problem seeing Donacien leave as I don’t think Lambert rates him, but we don’t seem to have a young RB or RWB coming through as cover. Cotter looked poor defensively so I don’t think he’s the answer.

Woolfenden plays RB and has on a few occasions, not sure about RWB though, if we do have to move him we have Josh Earl as another CB

We also have the new Dutch guy Levi Andoh, he is a RB.

I’m not sure what to make of this Levi Andoh. He’s bounced around a lot of lower non-league clubs and, on paper, hasn’t got much pedigree. We gave him an 18 month contract so he must have impressed. Maybe a Tyrone Mings type - who is a bit of a late developer. He’s scored a couple of goals for the 23’s, but the standard of the 23’s is such that it’s difficult to draw comparisons.

Fair play ... should’ve have used words better. ... and, in the absence of St Jude I can see you’re gonna target some ill-judged wordplay :)
Where is SJ BTW? He seems like he hasn’t posted for a few weeks.
