I can’t say I blame him as I think he’s good enough to play in The Championship and hopefully that’s where we’ll be next season albeit far from guaranteed.

It seems a perfectly reasonable response to me. He doesn't need to sort any deal out now. Hes certainly better than League 1, and if we don't get promoted he would expect to move up to Championship with another club. If we do get promoted, then it will be up to the club to decide his worth to us and how we keep him. Its simple and sensible.

Awful defender but good Midfielder. If he stays then great, if he doesn’t I won’t lose any sleep.

I wonder if this new loanee will play left back allowing Garbutt to be pushed further up the pitch , his best position .

The new guy is a CB. He played LB as the Bolton manager had the Pulis 4 CB back four ‘we start with a point let’s keep it’ mentality.
