Re: Terry Butcher
His managerial career was nothing short of terrible so I hope this is just a minor role.

Re: Terry Butcher
It says primarily working in the academy, so I guess it would be a minor role...

I’ve read it’s a defensive coaching role

Re: Terry Butcher
The Academy isn't minor though, it's the life blood of our future apparently

Re: Terry Butcher
I think he's got something to offer, especially to the youngsters. He has domestic and International experience as a player, and experience as a manager albeit unsuccessful. Also, I think he's an important part of the culture of ITFC.

Re: Terry Butcher
Butcher's a club stalwart, one of those rare names up on a plateau above others regards past-players associated with club history. Involved in a halcyon era that reaped great reward in which may never be witnessed again. Point being he's got the experience and knowledge to pass on and (this appointment) won't do no harm at all.

Aren’t they a bit old for the academy Derick?

Re: Terry Butcher
I just initially thought it was mainly a PR initiative, rather than Butcher taking a major role in coaching, etc. Bringing a Town legend in to try to keep links with past glories. Butcher played at the highest level, but that was a long time ago and I would have thought coaching techniques would have moved on quite a bit. I can’t see him in a tracksuit doing coaching drills.

Re: Terry Butcher
Just had a thought, Terry could step straight into PL shoes when he is given the boot, exciting times eh lol

Re: Terry Butcher
Just to add; if fans think McCarthy and Lambert are of a stubborn nature after listening to fans,———> Big Tel is EPL stubborn. Question his judgement and it’ll all be even more doomed than some already think.
