Interesting thought.
If Ipswich became a City as they are pushing to become would YOU the fans want to remain Ipswich Town FC or Ipswich City,FC ?
Swansea were Town then changed to City, and a few others, becoming a City would it invite more investors in the area, and perhaps the football club.
Wonder what the die hard fans think from the Town.

Sorry so wasn’t really including you or your opinion, but thanks for your usual input.

Re: Interesting thought.
What's your definition of die hard fans? Because i myself have been supporting Town for 52 years that's supporting spending money going to watch them and i know Mach goes to virtually every away game, so i think our opinion is far more "die hard" than a Wolves follower. Just a thought.goldandblack wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 1:13 pmMach_Polish_Blue wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 12:04 pmMad isn't it? Re: Interesting thought.
I don't often comment on your posts Mach... but bloody hell mate... Tone it down a bit. Woolfie is a regular contributor to this forum and hes striking up a conversation on a different topic rather than the usual "Evans out" stuff. Give him some slack and if you are not interested, don't comment... Like I don't with most of your posts!Mach_Polish_Blue wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 12:04 pmMad isn't it? Re: Interesting thought.
It would be weird chanting anything but Ipswich Town.. however much like when you get married and the wife changes her name I am sure we would get use to it with time. My personally preference would be to remain ITFC. However..... as we don’t own the land the ground is on I wonder if the council would pressure the name change...goldandblack wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 10:28 pmIf Ipswich became a City as they are pushing to become would YOU the fans want to remain Ipswich Town FC or Ipswich City,FC ?

Re: Interesting thought.
It’s got to always be Town but come to think about it, it does have a smaller vibe about it then say City or United monikers. Which I guess either signals small aspirations or plucky underdog spirit.
Anyway, Football league town table
1. Huddersfield
2. Ipswich
3. Fleetwood
4. Shrewsbury
5. Swindon
Got bored after that...

That's a very good point about the land ownership etc.AylesburyBlue wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 3:01 pmIt would be weird chanting anything but Ipswich Town.. however much like when you get married and the wife changes her name I am sure we would get use to it with time. Re: Interesting thought.
I would imaging your local council wouldn't want to be seen to upset you Town fans, I remember Swansea changing there name and thinking that will be strange, but you soon forget,Bluemike wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 4:03 pmThat's a very good point about the land ownership etc.AylesburyBlue wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 3:01 pmIt would be weird chanting anything but Ipswich Town.. however much like when you get married and the wife changes her name I am sure we would get use to it with time. personally I wouldn't want to change if it was my club, so that is why I was asking the locals reaction . anyway what sort of mugs would want to include CITY in there name, or Albion come to think of it

like some Wolves forums I used to enjoy were killed off by the net warriors, I wouldn't want this site to go that way,

Heaven is at Portman Road,
And that's where we come from.
