Missing Flynn a lot. Could easily be 3 down. Too many matches have seen us outplayed in one half or the other. Let's hope we lift the tempo a bit.

Absolute credit to Crewe. They look a great footballing side... passing us of the park.
This is where Lambert has to earn his money. It’s 0-0... I feel we can beat them. We could have caught them on the break if we’d been more clinical and had more pace. Judge and Sears not doing it for me. Edwards was not existent for 25-30 minutes.... but has come into the game and actually wanted to run at them. Needs Bennetts for Sears IMO ... more pace. Maybe Huws for Judge with Bishop pushed up behind Hawkins, whos had bugger all decent balls played to him.
Maybe a decent signing would be Crewe coaching staff. Playing some lovely stuff.

We have not been in the game, Crewe have been as good out of possession as in. Hawkins is getting nothing out of the CB therefore we have no platform to go forward. Then factor in every player except Edwards has misplaced a pass this is the poorest half I have seen this season and much of last.
It reminds me off the first half Tuesday accept roles reversed.

I think the problem with us is there’s no “ change” of pace . It’s all one paced , and slow : steady . I’m sure the Crewe back four will nod off to sleep soon lol .

Hawkins off when he’s beginning to win everything. Judge or Sears should be off.

Why take off a player who's made the difference. We're ahead and missed most of what's occurred thus far but prepared to see out the final moments. Hope the team can hold out for the victory if it remains as it is we go back to the league summit. Keep focused and try for a second, no good to sit back and invite them on, still some time to play out (it) would be real good to see a victory even if only by the one goal margin.

Now into second position, Peterborough must have superior goal difference, they got four right now. One will do it for us if the opposition are kept out in the final few minutes, just require to see this game out and catch up on analysis and reaction at a later time. Don't always get the chance to be involved in the final moments of a game but some anxiety creeping in with such a slender lead. Don't give it away now we're so close to victory.

I thought Jackson coming on was the right decision and did well when he did.

And f**king breath out, we won. TWTD confirms a victory although those last few minutes were tough to sit through. Two wins out of two and second position only by goal difference. Not a bad start to a season by any means but there's so much to come and play for in the time ahead. Look forward to later reading up on game review and player performance when time permits itself.

Re: Ipswich Town vs Crewe Alexandria Preview & Matchday Thread
Credit to Crewe, i would say best footballing team in this league
Credit where credit is do though for winning. Quite how though i'm not sure other than battling.
Thought Judge was awful, he passes the ball five yards wayward conceding a throw in, then shouts at the player he was aiming for. Not saying he didn't try but for me just totally awful.
I actually thought Sears did ok, for me Dozzell and Judge were poor, both CB's did ok and thought full backs also did ok but man of the match was Holy with Hawkins doing well and Edwards apart from that stupid foul near the end battled well. Not sure why Bishop was taken off, heads and tales above Dozzell and Judge.
Better second half, more even but these are the games need to win to be up there at end of season

7 wins out of first 10 games.
Steady as we go. We still don’t have a full squad to pick from so credit where credit is due. But I do think we play a very slow
( some would say patient), game. I’d say one paced, which if we are to improve I’d like to see that changed and that we mix up our play to include a change of pace. It keeps the opposition on their toes.
