Re: Burton Albion vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
I don’t think it really matters that a defender is out best player. Apparently we have managed a as shot but I can’t remember it.
I think the 1 up front argument is an irrelevance. I understand some people don’t like playing out from the back but the long high balls from the back that dominated the first 25 minutes was mind numbingly boring. If you play one up front then the wider players and at least 2 of the midfield need to get up in support.
Our 73% passing accuracy is not good enough. Their 51% is abysmal. If it wasn’t for chambers’ excellent block we would be losing - deservedly so when you can’t muster more than one shot

The worrying thing is that this is arguably, game-time apart, the strongest team PL could put out, keeping in mind we know he favours Judge.Charnwood wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 5:05 pmI can never in my life recall supporting Ipswich Town as being so depressing. I thought the 3 seasons under John Duncan were bad enough but this is dire. I just hope we can avoid another relegation cos after watching Crawley Town destroy Leeds United last week I think we’d struggle to get promotion at that level too.

Anyone viewing this game, I'm unable and sure wouldn't pay for the "privilege" considering how crap we often seem to be. Two teams in the bottom three in consecutive weeks and we've simply underperformed it's just not good enough. Yes Yes the injury issues, Lambert illness et cetera but you really would expect better against opposition teams of this nature.
There really doesn't appear much to be going on there, really doubtful as to whether to stick with this until the finish.

But not for long.
Burton are looking more dangerous than we are.

They've taken Norwood off, was that the right decision. Maybe an injury concern, I thought he would have been a good bet for a goal here. Get Lankester and Sears into action, the latter has his critics but every now and again can come up with something. Whatever tactical thing's going on out there isn't working for us.
Odd thing is somehow I think we're going to lead before long. Games like this really should be there for the taking. We've just hit the frame of goal ? Getting closer now you can feel it.

Went off for a moment missed the goal. At least we have a lead, maybe not playing to full potential but the team is ahead it's all important.
Need to hang on to this now, maybe go for a second, play it cautious and it could rebound on us. One point off the play-off zone as it stands, three points is critical if the team can see this through.
