Yes not sure it was malicious. But so unnecessary
Didn't look it to me,just clumsy, sky commentary made out He'd been butchered.

Yes. Typical strikers challenge. Looked bad but no real intent to harm. He’s just a player with pace and no real ability. The challenge was just an example of his lack of coordination really

So are we just going to keep playing without a striker or...?
Why change the habits of a lifetime?
The illusion gives me hope

Me too, nowhere near the ball. Whilst possibly more clumsy than malicious you just can’t expect to stay on the pitch with a tackle like it.

Other League One results not doing us any favours. Defensively we’re doing pretty well. 0-0 would be a good result for us.

Winchester tackle just as clumsy there , just a yellow card. Sums up our luck

So why wasn’t Winchester given a red card ? He launched himself at Downes , both feet off the ground and went in then through the back of Downes ?

Game over. We can’t score with a striker so we won’t without one

Indeed - only shame is that he can use the sending off as an excuse...😕

He definitely won’t be sacked on tonight’s result now . He can’t be held accountable for a stupid rash challenge by a Town player - unfortunately!

I was just about to say that was as good a 10 man performance as we could hope for and then it’s all gone up in smoke.

I really don’t think we deserved that, thanks to Kayden Jackson.

After 45 minutes of good defending, where were the centre backs for the goal?

Both drawn out of position leaving Wyke all on his own.

He’ll have to bring on Sears. But will it be after half time? Or 60 minutes? Or 75? Or 85?
To be honest I’m not sure what I’d do. Probably wait for at least 20 minutes and try and keep it to 1 down and then maybe make a change to try and pull it back

Dozzell at centre half for the goal....unbelievable. Were holding our own till then. Get Dozzell off bring Drinan on go long try and pick up bits and pieces play in the oppenants half.

Disagree there. Certainly a poor yellow card challenge, but nothing more.

I don’t blame Dozzell. The central defenders went missing.

Up until their goal, barring a single scare, Sunderland were not hurting us and we were keeping good shape. I would like to see Thomas get a sight of goal as i think he could find the back of the net. (Watch him take him off and put sears on!)!

In all honesty I’ve never rated Jackson. Pace and little else. But in his defence he isn’t a lone striker. And he should be playing on the shoulder rather than trying to win balls.
However, if as a result of his red card we lose B and L as m Lambert gets the sack, it’ll probably be the best thing Jackson has done for us
