Baggott
The 18 year has signed a professional contract until the summer of 2023 with a one year option, I thought we were going to lose him it's very good news IMO I think he will be a top player in time.

Re: Baggott
I'm generally surprised these youngsters continue to sign contracts with ITFC after the decline of the club. Can anyone give any insight as to why the likes of Baggott and Dozzell have signed long-term contracts with us?

Re: Baggott
A sign of intent ( for me anyway), would be if Lambert actually plays the lad. He’s supposed to be very good, so play him. He’s our player and I’d rather we gave our players a chance to develop than another clubs!

Re: Baggott
central defender Elkan Baggott says he’s delighted to have signed his first professional contract with the Blues and is now aiming to build on it and make his league debut before the end of the season.
The 18-year-old penned a deal which runs to the summer of 2023 earlier today, with the club having an option for a further season.
Premier League West Ham and Leeds had been linked after erroneous reports Baggott had turned down his Town deal, while we understand Everton were keen on the Indonesia U19 international.

“I'm delighted and I want to thank the coaches, my family, my friends and my parents for helping me get this far," Baggott told iFollow Ipswich.
“My parents have supported me through everything and I want to thank the coaches at the club for everything they have done.
“They've dedicated so much time to helping me develop, and I'm very grateful for that.
“I'm looking forward to building on this. I have some goals and targets in mind for the remainder of the season.
“I was delighted to make my debut for the club back in October [against Gillingham in the Papa John's Trophy] and I have to appreciate how far I've come, but I also want to keep my head down and keep working hard.
“In terms of the first team, I'd like to make my league debut. I'd like that to be by the end of the season and I hope I can continue to be in and around the senior squad.”
Thailand-born Baggott travelled with the senior squad to Plymouth before Christmas and was on the bench for the first time for Tuesday’s home game against Sunderland.
I thought he looked so calm and assured against Gillingham and if as expected we don't get promoted he will I think get his chance next season something he wouldn't get if he had signed for a premier club.

Re: Baggott
I can’t believe he’s reached 18 and he’s not been to the registry office to change the “moniker”!
Elkan Baggott?
That’d be getting the fk changed.

Re: Baggott
I wonder how many times he's walked off the pitch in protest because he thought the spectators were shouting something else??

This is very good news and very very surprising, was convinced he would be on his way, I think this lad could be a bit special.

I thought I’d try an anagram. Some names just invite it.
In my teaching days, I had to write a list of kids who were absent and hand it in to the office. I used to make anagrams of their names every day. The office staff used to laugh but I’m sure they hated it as they had to try and figure out who was absent.
