Just been looking at the recent form of both teams and to be honest there isn’t a huge difference, from their last 6 games Crewe have taken 7 points to Towns 6, Crewe’s goal difference is -2 to our -3. However where form does turn significantly in their favour is their home form undefeated in their last 6 games with 4 wins and 2 draws, interesting though they haven’t kept a clean sheet. Hopefully we can exploit that weakness although scoring goals doesn’t come easy at the moment although some of us may have forgotten that we have won our last two away games at Burton and Plymouth. Maybe we’re not as bad we think.
I think the main difference is Crewe score more and concede more. I’m not convinced we are capable of scoring

Think we have looked pretty decent so far. Wolfenden has been easily shrugged off ball and was very hesitant in the chance Crewe just created.

We looked decent against Sunderland on Tuesday until we got into the final third where we hardly ever looked a threat, and therein lies the problem.

True, we do seem to be working very hard off the ball, pressing quite high and not allowing Crewe much time.

We have looked ok, Judge doing a lot of decent stuff too.

Crewe seem to be imposing themselves a bit now.

Kenlock and Judge playing and Sears as our one striker thoughts ?
I'd like to see Kenlock have a good game but in honesty I think he will struggle. He will probably be the first yellow card of the game.
Judge is playing in his favoured position which helps, but don't understand how he plays in preference to Bishop (assuming he's fit). What you can guarantee with Judge playing there is 3 or 4 shots, all from 30 yards plus, and all unlikely to test the keeper.
And Sears? He'll be replaced after an hour by Norwood and then we will look a bit more dangerous. Unfortunately by then we could be 2 or 3 goals down.

Expecting a defeat by at least 2 goals, possibly even 3 or 4. And bye bye Lambert

But still have enough hope to have forked out £10 to watch it.
First prediction correct

A better half than I expected . Still no goal threat though. I think Crewe look the more dangerous but not too bad.

The test will be the next 15 minutes. Which manager will get their side going in the second half?

Lambert's big chance....

Probably. I don't think many would have booked Sears for that though.

Based on that first half if only we can score we could nick this to make it three away wins in a row. That really would screw getting rid of Paul Lambert.

I agree, it is looking like a single goal will win this. At least we had the one shot on target of the first half.

Without any commentary, interesting to hear everyone screaming at the ref. That Freddie yellow..... Crewe were trying to get him sent off. In actual fact, Freddie just turned around and flicked high at the ball and the player ran into him. Foul... and high.. but nothing more than a foul. And you can’t be offside from a goal kick... thanks Chambo.

Whatever.... spirited and less faffing about and, on occasion, some decent movement... but nothing great. Two middle of the table sides who lack the killer instinct. Kenlock’s doing ok... great goal-saving tackle.
