Evans looking to sell up now/ finally?

I know its rumour ....but there has been a few conversations on twtd over this week, with Phil Ham ( who is usually very guarded about commenting on such things), making one or two comments along similar lines.

IF true , then it might explain why Evans has said nothing , done nothing , since the last debacle by the team and PL ......personally I do start to now get " a feeling" that something might be about to happen, bigger than Lambert getting the chop.

Don't you think if Evans is in negotiations to sell the club it would have hit the press?

Probably IS a load of old baloney but I think everyone connected with the Club wants SOMETHING to happen now. I just help but think Evans silence is deafening and that something is happening behind the scenes. It’ll either be about the manager, or significant changes for the club.

Fingers crossed🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Have shared the link of a couple of the Town FB pages,
And the general consensus is the guy post sh*te

IE
"That guy is a wind up - always posting in the know stuff that’s usually just bollocks"

"Absolute loads of bollocks. The bloke works at an insurance company and is well known for throwing sh*t at the wall hoping something sticks. Nothing in it all all I’m sure"

to quote a couple of posts

Club sold ??

Just seen a post on FB ( can’t copy n paste it sorry , but if there was any truth in it , Evans has sold the club to an American consortium, who have their own manager lined up and Evans won’t sack Lambert as would have to pay compensation etc etc

Probably a complete load of balderdash ..... but we live in hope ? 🤷‍♀️

Yeah it's me, I've purchased it..

Find a reliable source of information and then we can attempt to take notice. I'd expect Marcus Evans to be here for some considerable time to come, even if Paul Lambert won't be.

Furthermore doesn't seem to be mention on the TWTD main page of any such actions so guess it's all garbage for want of better description.

Well I did say it’s probably a load of 💩 but there’s definitely rumours going round atm . Wait n see I guess . But PL ( having already had a F2F meeting with Evans yesterday by all accounts) , was positively jovial in the post match interview..... BIG change in his demeanour

This was Maguires reply last night about any potential hopes of a takeover.

There’s 8-10 clubs that are in the ‘possible’ takeover category at present. Ipswich are one but that’s a long way off a deal. Trail could easily go cold. Don’t get hopes raised.

Doesn’t suggest there’s a takeover imminent from this source

Very unlikely I'm afraid who would want to buy Town, I know nothing about the Sunderland takeover but I would be worried if our chairman was 23 years old.

No it doesn’t see, so does it. I also think Evans has backed Lambert further still following his meeting with him the other day. Lamberts whole demeanour has changed, and he Was practically laughing and joking with the journalist post match last night. All very ver6 disappointing if this is true.

As long as it isn’t Boris Johnson I don’t care. He’d just keep telling us that we are world beating....

 POSSIBLY a rich American consortium willing to pay Marcus Evans £40 million with their own CEO evidently the ex Bristol City CEO.

BUT Its only a rumour at present being banded, I think all will be revealed in the next week or so.

So if it happens all well and good, I would say its on par with the Sunderland takeover, so cross fingers it will kick off as there is no better time to buy than when a club is in trouble financially.

Anyone willing to pay £40m for ITFC would need to be soft in the head. If memory serves, ME bought the club and the debt for £6m and it's been loss making ever since. The debt that ME holds is not like real money, it's just a way to get a big payoff in the event of an increasingly unlikely promotion to the premier league.

With the kind of conversations going on now it may be that any promotion to the PL might soon be ended permanently.

I doubt whether it would take much more than the £6m that ME originally invested to but ITFC. Maybe even less.

From a report a couple of years back.

Evans acquired debts of £32m when buying the club in December 2007 and that figure has now reached £95.5m. It could very well break the £100m mark this time next year.

Promotion to the Premiership?!!! Christ.... we’re now looking at a 0-0 home draw to Oxford as a good result.

Some of us, I can't accept that as a good result, don't think I ever will.

Like it or not Mike a draw was as good or better than most of us expected.
