THERE IS NO BLOODY TAKEOVER PENDING !!!!!!
Just quoting so you can't edit your post on Thursday

Evans will sell at some point, the club needs a new direction and its only going to become more painful for his bank balance the longer it drags on. I'm just desperate for a fresh start, I'm convinced there is no positivity in a future with Evans, he tried, he failed, it's just heartbreaking stuff to watch unfold until there's change.

I certainly wouldn't be editing anything.

Of course he will sell at some point, nobody stays forever but that is like saying Cook is gonna get sacked or quit, of course he will, eventually.

What I am saying is there is nothing pending or in the pipeline anytime soon, just my opinion, these searches don't necessarily mean anything.

it's just heartbreaking to see Harrogate Town only a League below in the pyramid.
Definitely agree with that part, Ricco.

I'm in complete agreement with you Mike, I'm just holding out hope because I need it!

The paragraph also wasn't a response to yours by the way, just my general feelings on all that guff at the moment.

Ha indeed, though I find it more terrifying to ponder that Hibs would completely turn us over!!

Well, to be honest, normally definitely not.

But AT THIS moment in time......, Hibs would definitely turn ITFC over and I'd be screaming for JR's sacking if they didn't. I have watched (and then decided NOT to watch) Ipswich 5 times now and it's arguably on a par with the WORST i've ever witnessed at ER over the past 40 years. That Gillingham game??? FFS?? Couldn't believe what I was watching. My old home town, PENICUIK ATHLETIC would've turned over Ipswich that day.

So......, its bad.

Faith in Cookie to turn things around though with the help of the new Millionaires that'll be revealed on Thursday.

Hibs must have been REALLY bad when they played the Loons a while back then Marko cus no way would that team on the night get anywhere near Town, even as bad as we are.

But that's the point about Ipswich being in League One and the need to get out of it. No disrespect to the Loons at all, but Forfar, (like Gills, Mk Dons, whoever) drag the bigger clubs down to their level. It can be soul destroying to watch. Park the bus tactics and occasional counter. Thankfully Darren McGregor was outstanding that night at Station Park because Forfar may have got something from the game.

The classier, football match so far that I've witnessed has been v Hull City but they can be regarded as being in the same boat as Ipswich, ie, a better club playing amongst dire opposition.

Having said that, Ipswich really have struggled this season to take any game by the scruff of the neck and show any authority.

Blimey there we are then. And some very encouraging words in the various statements released by the 3 parties.

Looks like things have the potential to improve. Let's start by increasing the promotion bonuses for this year.

  At this moment in time I will take just getting back in the Championship. There is no doubt that the club was sinking faster than the Titanic under Evans and something had to change.
However, I also remember all the celebrations when Evans took over and what people thought that might lead too. For me the takeover is good news as something has now been done to try and stop the slide and all we can hope for is things actually turn out better this time.

Excellent news! Facebook is right ;-).

So massive investment in the squad is needed, some sensible sized squad and not a bloated whale like we have now. Quality and not quantity. Promotion next season would be excellent, but i wont be under any illusion we will be pack in the Prem too quickly. Its very easy to waste good money chasing that dream. A steady slow progress would suit me, but progress is the optimum word

Getting out of this League next season has to be a target which is achieved, after that consolidation then who knows !!

I take it this deal has to be ratified and approved by the EFL first ?

well it's what most of have wanted (some of us for far longer than others) so let's hope that a new age has indeed dawned.
Interesting to read that takeover discussions have been taking place for almost a year.

Wow, I just have a massive sense of relief! No huge excitement just yet, there's a long road ahead, but there is overwhelming relief that we're off another road that was only heading one way. I need a beer.

Modified your thread title Andy.

And another chapter begins, let’s hope Gamechangers ambitions are achieved.

My only concern is how do you get rid of most of this squad and rebuild a new one in the next transfer window and then hope it ‘gels’ (hate that term btw) from the get go?

I still think some acknowledgment should be made of ME’s commitment to the club over the years, particularly the last year where his own business would have been struggling.

Have always felt that if he had been more visible and sold the message better he wouldn’t have alienated so many fans.

Anyway, think we have a good manager, strong ownership, the right executives and a bright future, so let’s enjoy the moment.
