Thank f*ck for global warming.

In those days, they’re all dressed up in winter clothes and it was nearly May.

I can't remember seeing that Mike but the first thing I noticed was Larry Carberry came out last, it might just be a coincidence but my uncle who was the former right back always made sure he was last one out, just superstition from him.

Not sure what supposed to be viewing, was unable to see anything suggested above. Obviously to do with the 1962 League Championship side, the day we won the league you'd imagine. Two things, how much would Phillips and Crawford be worth in todays market and secondly how did a team that won consecutive (different) league titles come to be relegated a season or two after.

Not sure Ramsey was still manager in '64 feel embarrassed for that following long as I have but two years after League Champions a fall into the then second division league that much is clear. McGarry got us back soon after but still in retrospect strange such a fall away occurred in such short space of time.

How many other Tractor Boys were there that day ? I was in Churchmans Stand up against the wall to the left of the goal where Ray Crawford scored.

But...... Charnwood, always great knowing some of you were there.
The 38,010 game blew my mind reading about that game on here.

What great memories to have. Not being crushed of course.

I still own an Ipswich pendant that I got at Caister-on-Sea around 82 when we all went to Hoseasons caravan park. Horrendous holiday. But on that pendant, there were shields all the way around with Honours / facts etc. In one shield there is "38.010 record attendance" and my dad had a conversation about that with me. Mainly about "The 10" Sticks in my memory.

Great to read the homegrown Ipswich fans memories and stories both recent or the distant past. Forum member Toby (where is he???) talking about being dressed in drag and ending up at the wrong end at Bramall Lane. Best story I've read on this site.

Yeah I wondered about Toby also. Was a regular contributor and then just disappeared. Hope he's ok wherever he is.

Toby is fine.

I follow him on Twitter. He is the comedian Tony Coward if you want to check up on what he is up to.

I, too, was in Churchmans with my Dad - I was only 5 but still remember that day vividly
