Supporters Club Player of the year
I understand the decision to keep with tradition, of holding a Player of the season vote every year, regardless of whether the season has been good or bad. However this headline left me not knowing whether to laugh or cry!
https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2021/april/ ... -the-year/
How do you vote in such a dire season? Has anyone done enough to deserve the award? For me probably Downes, Kenlock, Bishop and maybe Norwood for his 7 goals, of those who have played a reasonable number of minutes.
The thing is does anybody deserve recognition in particular? You have a choice from a drop down list, which means no voting for the cleaner, the kit washer etc. I am tempted to vote for Nydam or one of the youth team players (who have seen very little or no first team action) as a means of sticking 2 fingers up to the regulars.
I am sure some of you have some better suggestions? How about a bit of humour to the post to brighten up the closing stages of a sh*te season?

Totally with you here AzzurroMark on who the hell do we vote for?
I would vote for one of the lads in the youth team personally, or all of the youth team

I’ve already voted for Nydam.... as two fingers up to the rest.
I just think Chambers will win it. He’s the most marmite talked about player we’ve got and there will be fans voting for him to p*ss off others who’ve hammered him. TBF, he’s been steady for the first part of the season and would deserve it more than others, but can see this being a farce. Whoever wins it is going to feel a bit embarrassed.

Its another insult to the fans, I won't be voting but if I did I would vote for Toto.

Toto is certainly a better shout than many others.
Made my mind up, Nydam it is........even though i havent seen him kick a ball this season. The lad has had a horrible injury and deserves my vote for keeping going and fighting his way back to the first team fringes.

Re: Supporters Club Player of the year
I wouldn't know where to start given my lack of proximity and not really having gone out of my way to take in any live action this season so my question to those who have suffered through many a streamed game would be.
Who on the drop down list has had a decent 20 minutes?

James Wilson wins POTY.

Have to admit I thought he was our most solid centre back. He only played 18 times, though.
Based on performances, out of Chambers, Toto and Wilson I’d want him to be the one to stay, But he’s 32, a limited footballer and he’s now injury-prone. I think time to let go.

Not sure I see it myself but good luck to him, POTS in our worst ever year.

Re: Supporters Club Player of the year
In the absence of an outstanding candidate I would definitely award it to the Ipswich Town Youth Team in recognition of their progress in the FA Youth Cup. At least it would then have some credibility.
Even the players must accept that none of the first team deserve the award and whoever gets it will surely be utterly embarrassed.
