Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
I can’t see Germany scoring against us let alone winning. I just hope it isn’t a 0-0 bore draw and we lose on penalties.
My Prediction remains unchanged, England 1-0 Germany

I guess that was the point that I didn't take the time to post earlier. We are all remembering yesterday's Germany. Today's Germany is no better than half the other teams in these finals.marko69 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 11:08 amDubai Blue wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 8:25 am
I don't understand why everyone is so worried about the Germans.

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Germany could have the Paul Hurst team playing tonight, its the mental block of not beating Germany at a tournament since 1966, (May be wrong but i think you won a cup that year, )
Fact is, this “not as good” Germany would no doubt wipe the floor with Scotland and Scotland made England look a million miles away from a tournament champion.
I’ll be very surprised if England progress……. And if you do, then it should be a final v Belgium or Italy.

I can think of a more appropriate place to shove it. Have a great time and a Safe trip Shed,.I'll stay behind and guard our Fish n Chip Shop .Shed on tour wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 10:33 amThink we should forward the post from Saint onto Southgate to put up in the dressing room to motivate the players!

Was thinking exactly that last night as i went to sleep! Those greedy buggers last night must have used up most of the Last 16 goals quota! Not raising my hopes on seeing a classic tonight, but would quite happily take a scrappy 1-0 victory for England.

That is definitely a great idea for a thread over on off topic chat. Finally after all these years we could get "breast chat" onto the TB forum.AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 3:23 pmWas thinking exactly that last night as i went to sleep!
Which reminds me; getting a KFC delivery later for the football.

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Quite a defensive line up from Southgate. Though we have looked OK so far, i feel we miss a wiley, experienced player in midfield. Would have liked to have had a fit Jordan Henderson nestled in there from the start.
C'mon England

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Just seen the team.
Looks like Southgate’s going even more defensive and changing formation.
I think I’d rather we go for it. We’ve got some really good attacking talent. Feels like we’re scared of the Germans.

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Not sure I’d have predicted that starting line up especially Stones and McGuire side by side which could make us vulnerable. Often its said you’re only as strong as your bench and if that were the case we would win comfortably as I don’t ever recall an England manager having a stronger bench at his disposal with pace and creativity readily available. It looks to me like Southgate has chosen to make sure we don’t lose over going for them from the start. As I said yesterday getting his tactics right is Southgate's biggest challenge, I just hope he’s got it right.
Still sticking with 1-0 England.
At least we won’t have to listen to Emma The Dyke commentating tonight, I don’t ever want to listen to her again.

I think Saka could be key in England’s attack. I hope he can link up with Kane.

I think it’s working now. After a very nervy start we appear to be getting on top.

That can backfire. We did that last season by regularly leaving creative talent like Sears, Drinan, Hawkins and Jackson on the bench. Look where it got us.Charnwood wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 4:27 pmNot sure I’d have predicted that starting line up especially Stones and McGuire side by side which could make us vulnerable. Phillips lucky lad. Proper ankle snapper that was on Kroos. Could’ve been red in some refs eyes.

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Not a lot in the first half, after an opening 15 minutes in which we were anonymous we came more into it and looked the better side, Germany still had a gilt edge chance from which Pickford made a good save. Saka and Sterling comfortably our best players, Rice anonymous and Kane embarrassing again. All to play for but we need to change it, get Grealish on !!!

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Really quite frustrating, we shown when running and quick passing we really cause them problems. Far too many times seem hesitant and look for the backwards pass.
Agree with bringing on the free flowing quick players

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
Sterling frustrates me, so many things could do but he had to charge at them all. Use your head man was, player to your right.. They win and next thing right back in our box

Re: EURO 2020 / 2021 CHAT
I can’t see him taking Harry Kane off Mike unless he’s injured. He’s the sort of player who only needs one opportunity which may be enough to win this game.Bluemike wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 5:57 pmNot a lot in the first half, after an opening 15 minutes in which we were anonymous we came more into it and looked the better side, Germany still had a gilt edge chance from which Pickford made a good save.
