Holland v Ukraine & all three Italy games have been decent & enjoyable. But agree that most of it has been nothing to write home about.

So Mount and Chilwell have to isolate due to coming into close contact with Gilmour but none of the Scottish squad do ? f**king hilarious, Scotland must have had the biggest dressing room known to man, not to mention activity on the pitch, using the showers, on a coach etc etc, total farce.

Maybe Mount & Chilwell are not vaccinated but the others all are. This would change the risk assessment a bit.

None of the covid stuff makes sense. I was once a believer. Its all wind & pish now.
Even in Oz with the AFL @ the moment. Really is a complete joke.
That very instance……. Two english lads out….. gilmour out but no one else. 🤔
The “answer” is made up on the spot so whats the point in listening?
Total joke.

Stats about this are quite compelling actually. In UAE the vaccine was found in phase III trials to be around 79% effective at preventing infection and around 90% effective in preventing serious illness. Right now around 85% of the population is properly vaccinated and boosters have started. Despite this there are still around 2000 new cases (and 250,000 new tests) every day.

However statistically, 80% of the new cases are among those who are not vaccinated.

I believe that players were not forced to vaccinate. In Poland where I am now there was a lot of press on this because quite a lot of their squad chose not to vaccinate and were still picked to play. I think it may not be so clear cut that they are vaccinated. UEFA have not insisted on it (oddly).

I dont think its odd because there will be an explanation.
Fly on wall in Uefa board room listening in.

Medical officer: (Saying ALL those percentages and stats youve just said, Dubai,) followed by,“how do we proceed with players and vaccines?”

Uefa chief: “🤷‍♂️Fk knows, mate!”

Boring second half, but sensible considering we’d already qualified. Well done Southgate for giving a few fringe players a run out.

I’d still start Kane, he almost scored today. He always has a goal in him.

I’m just concerned about how this team will respond if they go down a goal.

YES!!! Season officially over. Knew it would be. Immune to the hurt since 1998.

Good luck to the remaining home nations.

Hopefully the new season is able to start properly, the reviews and The Don Cup can return and some normality returns with everyone happy and high on Paul Cook wins.

Cheers guys, have a great summer. :D

Bloody Croatia! Knocked us out in the semifinals at the WC, and now cancel the hopes of our brethren! I’m sure the Croats will rear their ugly heads again in this tournament!

Can’t say I’ve got into this tournament yet. Job done for England, but need to raise their game.

I think it could be a good thing England play a top side next. Either raise their game or get out of the tournament.

Probably still smarting from that 0-0 drubbing by Scotland.

sorry for the scots not progressing but nothing new. Wanted them to do it but having never got beyond the group stage of any competition some things just aren't meant to be. English will fall on their asses and go out to the next avaialble strong, competent nation they face although some insist they're still one of the worlds leading soccer powers and have a divine right or expectancy to go far when these damn tournaments come around. Just get it over with and then back to domestics in August.

Soon as Spain go out any interest in this here competition will just about expire. Nothng like the supreme quality of ten years back and if you can't beat the teams supplied in that particular group then you don't deserve to be part of it.

Unless England can up their game I don’t see us progressing beyond the next round. France Germany and Portugal all okay with so much more ambition than England and even if we can keep another clean sheet we’re not exactly prolific in front of goal.

I think we have the talent to beat the Germans, but there’s always the psychological hoodoo we’ll have to overcome. In all honesty I wouldn’t bet on us winning, but it’s a good time to play a German team in transition.

Wolves v France,
With 5 wolves or ex wolves players i think its been our best performance of the season. All the lads done great. Super proud,
plus if Neto and Podence were not out injured we would have won, COYW

Looking how the draw has worked out after the group stages certainly England, Germany and The Netherlands will think they are in the better half to reach the final.
The other side have France, Belgium, Spain, Italy all having the chance to get to the final. Whoever gets through to the final out of that lot will certainly deserve to get there.

Glad we haven't bothered applying for tickets for the last 16 as it is bad enough watching us losing to the Germans on tv let alone being there.
For the knockout stages we have only applied for the final should England get there by some miracle. Definitely getting old as I'm still knackered from going to the group games.

Think we should have enough youthfulness & energy to defeat the ageing Germans.

Ah but the reverse is how sweet it is when we beat them! Although you should not rule out the Germans, i think both France and Portugal have got more about them currently, so for me are the favoured opposition of the three........as long as it doesn't go to penalties!

I haven’t written us off yet but only if we can keep a clean sheet and avoid a penalty shoot out. For us to win I think it will have to be 1-0, I certainly don’t see us winning a 5 goal thriller or coming back after conceding the first goal. I think we have enough talent to win the game but just need Gareth Southgate to get the tactics right on the night.

I’m really looking forward to watching the game and for me a win would be a great precursor to a 3 day golf trip with the boys.
