This is a shambles. How we are still in this game is unbelievable. Walton only player to deserve praise

Re: League 1 - Charlton Athletic vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
So we’ve been TOTALLY OUTCLASSED by a team that have a poor home record .
Does this Town side look like the Town side that ripped Wycombe or Pompey apart ??
WTF had gone wrong ?
We are going to implode and likely drop down the division now .
Sack Cook ? f**king brilliant idea !!

We need a good, experienced manager ASAP, January is crucial but this season is all but over, the damage is already done, probably was in the first eight games.

This wasnt the same team that I saw at pompey and wycombe. What on earth has changed? All we can hope now is that our new owners can see what a 20 year old basket case we have become...

I'm getting a 2 - 0 losing score with time running out, say it isn't so.
Lo and behold we began with a 4-2-3-1 line-up (?) Thought Cook was fired a day or two back ?
Reading through some replies already in the above appears we're not playing to any great efficiency or to be blunt, poor. Unfortunate to see but guess a number of factors to it such as what can only be adverse weather fronts and players reacting to the Cook dismissal et cetera.

That’s what you get when you make a lot of changes …. TIME was needed to settle things down . Now we’ve just gone and repeated that whole process again . If the season was in doubt before the sacking of Cook it’s most definitely f**king over now !

We Need Warnock in ASAP to tidy this mess up, I can see another lot of players leaving in Jan window, just get that bloody defence sorted out, If Warnock does come here that's the first thing he will do bring in better quality defenders

That was a 2-0 hiding if ever I’ve seen one.

What an embarrassment, whoever comes in has got a real job on their hands to sort this mess out. Really hoping Ashton knows who he wants and gets it done quickly

Yes, I dont think we can afford to hang about now.
Season is over as far as I’m concerned now, and The way this squad is performing it’s about damage limitation and avoiding being sucked into the relegation zone … we playing that badly and totally devoid of confidence or direction .
Utter f**king shambles

The new manager will need to be a big character that has the knowledge and man management skills to shake this squad up, I’m sure there’s a good team buried in there somewhere!

Well we weren’t going up this season no matter who was/is in charge. I hope the next manager is a magician cuz he’s gonna have to work magic to improve this squad. If we have the talent as has been suggested, we need a tactician to pull a rabbit out of the hat!

I think tonight was to be expected, I am sure the new manager will get us firing, as long as we get a good man in. I'm feeling optimistic.

Re: League 1 - Charlton Athletic vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
and who's idea was it to field the damn 4-2-3-1 line up to begin with. Guess you can chalk that one up to McGreal and while we may have altered after the break to include an extra man in attack by then damage had been done. Makes you real irate when you continue to see the same starting formations time and again, and all this when the orchestrator is no longer with us.
Look it's a 2- 0 defeat, still getting game reaction but it's clear to see we didn't play well and the opposition weren't really threatened. Don't like to talk on all and any promotion issue / hope, as truth be told it's not going to happen for us but from somewhere within you got to entertain some hope of achievement no matter how slim or unrealistic it may be.
The next manager choice will be crticial. Whoever the club appoints next has a mammoth task at hand in hoping to bring the team back to some respectability / championship level / harmony within the fanbase. What it needs is adequate time to weigh up the options and make a conscious choice, dive in quickly and a rush decision can only backfire on the club name.

I’m actually struggling to feel any real association with our football club at the moment, it just doesn’t feel like ITFC anymore. Does anyone else feel this way, it just feels very strange.

How was your Thanksgiving in the US, Charny? Mine was superb…I got to spend it with both my daughters for the first time in years. While my employment situation is still in dire straits, I can still hold on to those memories. Just like being an ITFC fan, I’ll never relinquish that hope.

To me it feels like everything is just unravelling and almost like the bottom has fallen out of my world . Sounds dramatic I know …. But for the life of me I’m truly wondering where the hell this Club will go next !

I feel exactly the same. Have done since the middle of Lambert's time.

Re: League 1 - Charlton Athletic vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Sad to hear some of our fans behaviour after the game was appalling, players abused, some racially and Simon Walton physically pushed by a so called Town fan, he's been outed on FB apparently so hopefully a lifetime ban. This is not the time to turn on the players, managers come and go but at the moment these are the people we have no option but to rely on, as bad as they are I don't agree with this type of behaviour.
