I don't expect it's true yet anyway but Wikipedia says Magilton is assistant manager .
Apparently Martyn Pert might be the assistant manager.
Yes I saw that but hoping Wiki is correct or maybe both.

Last month, it was reported that some Manchester United players were unhappy that McKenna was kept on following Solskjær's departure having found him "dry and school-teacherly in his delivery"

Ha nice, sounds promising!

Well what it means is Ashton calls the shots doesn’t it ….

It also explains the vast infrastructure put in place at the club since the take over , and that Cook and his coaching team was never going to be staying long .

Fine, we’ll see how it goes …. The New man will get my backing

Applied or headhunted? If he applied he must have given a very good showing as he does not have the broad CV many of the alleged other applicants. If the latter, who was behind the approach (i ask in a positive aspect) as this needed universal backing from the owners and in all fairness would they have truly been aware of him?

I don't really understand some of the resentment shown towards Ashton, in the close season he helped ship out a load of deadwood, oversaw lots of new players coming in, many of which most of us were very excited about before the season started. Granted things haven't gone at all how we expected but I don't see how this can really be blamed on Ashton, from early in the season there were lots of comments on PCs reluctance to try anything different and we have lost so many leads this season that I have lost count, surely this can only really be blamed on the manager and his tactics, formations, substitutions etc.

Despite the poor season so far I still feel that the club is in a far better place than it would have been if Evans was still at the helm, we just need to be a little more patient. In some ways a young, up and coming coach with experience of working with a world class squad of players is quite exciting, let's see what happens.

35y 199d Sir Alf Ramsey
35y 216d* Kieran McKenna
35y 329d Sir Bobby Robson

* if confirmed.

On paper this appointment ( if announced tomorrow ?) looks potentially, exciting and very forward thinking. This guy has all the scientific background and work experience at premier league level credentials likely to drag this Club finally into the 21st century of professional football , and it appears as if Town have made a very significant step away from the traditional old school approach of the middle aged “manager”.

I hope it goes well. Potentially as well as being exciting and forward thinking it could also be a considerable risk. These two coaches are young and not much older than the players they will be in charge of . I just hope they can command the respect of the players, or it could all fall flat and I really , really don’t want that to happen.

Let’s just hope ( pray?) it goes well. But it will take TIME!! …they will have my full backing

McKenna’s number two looks to be thus guy from Man Utd ….

Stop talking sense man, there is no other club in the world that likes a scapegoat for than ITFC, its been an endless stream of them for years, Ashtons turn now, after all as you say, he f*cked up the numerous leads we've thrown away, absolutely nothing to do with Cook.

My personal reservations concerning Mark Ashton, is how much control and string pulling will he be exerting on matters at the Club. Especially given the new coaches are actually quite young! That’s all Im wary of …..who has the final say in the team?

Ps are you home now Mike?

I’m actually quite excited by the prospect of a young managerial/coaching team with a significant move away from the expected mould for a club in our position. I just hope he understands that our boys are a long way off having the skills of Ronaldo, Rashford, Fernandes and Pogba etc

it could really work though last young manager we had was a disaster

These two however feel been coached themselves in the right way. Down to man management and respect they receive from the players if it goes ahead. Have to admit this new does excite me far more than what have heard previously
