Dominic Thompson signed on loan from Brentford.

Quite a signing, hes played in the Prem this season.
Apparently he was MoM against Man City a little while back

He might have to go straight in on Saturday… but I doubt he’ll have had any training session with squad ( maybe 1 today before they leave for Sheffield?)

Dominic Thompson is an excellent signing and they don’t come much better than this at League One level. K V-Y may well have done us a massive favour getting a red card on Tuesday night.

I hope he fits in and plays well. It’ll be a confirmation of the benefits of KM’s contacts.

Who knows, if he enjoys himself here it could work in our favour the same as Christian Walton and he ends up here on a permanent deal. He’s young, he’s only made 8 appearances for Brentford the rest on loan at Swindon. He’s already moved from Arsenal to Brentford and may well be searching for a level where he can get regular first team football. I have very little concern that McKenna will coach him in. I just think we have found a little Jem that none of us would ever have had on our radar.

Fraser bidding has now started....

https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-new ... r-approach

tbh 400k is a bit low, hoping Swansea now make an approach.

Testing the water aren’t they. But since we paid £750k I doubt we’ll accept that. I bet Swansea will make an offer for him, and he’ll go there.

Edit.

Rejected , ha ha

Apparently we've said we are not interested and not after him so who knows ?

TWTD understands that contrary to a report, the Blues have not made an offer to Fleetwood for midfielder Jay Matete.

Sky Sports News is reporting that Town have made a £650,000 bid for the 20-year-old, however, we understand that this is not the case.

Although the Blues are aware of Matete, who impressed in the game between the sides at Portman Road, Town won’t be making move for him before the transfer window closes on Monday evening at 11pm.

The Blues would appear well covered in central midfield at present, although with Scott Fraser interesting Charlton, whose interest up to now Town have rebuffed.

I’d be very pleased if we got him, he looked a class act when I was at PR to watch the fleetwood game, really stood out…..right up until Morsy left one on him and he disappeared.
Unsure on his contract situation but I’d have thought fleetwood know they have a potential gem there.

I think he would fit vey well into our midfield as someone who can break things up but also play.

If he’s in the Morsy mould I’d say we need him

 Really? Morsy “at it” again? Didn’t see any highlights of that game but dear oh dear. Morsy?! 🤦‍♂️ Sounds like a proper liability.

Thing is he’ll make himself a “marked” man by the officials and will probably never get given the benefit of the doubt now .

I suspect we are interested in him, no smoke without fire, maybe dependant on whether Fraser moves on or not.

Think there will be some in and outs over nex few days.

It was actually very smart- the kids was running the show for them from midfield and morsey gave him a nibble and it threw him off his game, probably distracted/intimidated him a bit. It’s something he’ll grow out of no doubt though, and understandable given his age.

Just Morsy showing his experience.

Definitely needs to control that “experience”……, reign it in a bit. With adrenalin pumping, there is no knowing what damage could be caused in the heat of the moment, and adrenalin strength.

AFL’s older & experienced Andrew Gaff couple years back. Banned for the remainder of the season after this horror show on an 18 year old lad. Jaw broken, teeth out…….. horrendous.

Charlton have put in another bid for Fraser hopefully a lot more than the £400,000 first bid.

Coulson finally returned to Boro. Don’t know why we didn’t do this months ago . Utter waste of time money and space in the squad ….

…. And young Clements going on loan to Stevenage . Think that’s a good thing , bring him on for next season hopefully 👍.

I think if we see Harper and El Mizouni go out on loan it’ll mean we’re bringing in a new midfielder … hopefully the Fleetwood player ?

Yep all good news so far and Matete would be a very good piece of business should it happen.

He looked very good against us but has very little experience but could be very good in time but if we are going for top 6 this season someone with more experience would be needed IMO.
