Ladapo showed why he should not start missing a 1 on 1 AGAIN. 4-0 Burgess.

Dominic Ball limping heavily according to EADT. One very good reason for not using our best players in a nothing cup game!

True. Northampton tried to play (and failed). Colchester just defended. And we gave them a goal.

Good result.

Great result 6-0, I gave up trying to watch on ifollow tonight as too many interruptions I assume from the overhead storms although unbelievably still no rain. ☹️

… and a late goal from Freddie Ladapo, let’s hope it helps his confidence.

Good result, whole team played well, hope Sone shakes off that knock and is fit again soon.

Really pleased with Freddie getting off the mark, well done the youngsters, Humphreys looks good and hope he stays and is not put out on loan.

A great watch tonight, I thought Leigh was good - I’d like to see him start some of the ‘easier’ games - ie rotate a little whilst Davies settles in.

The striker one is hard as nobody is really leading that race, I think they all have 1 each now.

That were a score you didn't expect. The 'competition' itself may not be worth sh*t but truth be told that's a result you can take a level of pride in.

Would have picked Hayes for goal duties over Vaclav given the trivial nature of event, the former isn't going to get too many other chances to feature.

If you can get past the avalanche of bullshit advertisements and distractions on the TWTD page/s, checked out the rest of line-up / game analysis for today and as expected a mixture of recognized names and players not sure quite up on. 5,000 represents a good crowd given the purpose of event.

Tournament's something of a mess : games being decided on penalty shoot-outs in the event of a draw : thought it were Group Stages throughout.

Salford got a win over Liverpool Juniors, it's that kind of mash of competition. Only thing left to wonder is how we lost to Colchester in a previous round, yet reach a big comprehensive victory score over opponents that seem stronger or more established, at least on paper.

All told, a good win, some real pride there to take in maybe. If the team could (consistently) replicate these achievements in the League - and all other relevant Cup fixtures - the club name really will be making strides forward.

So great win, BUT we now have two first teamers potentially ( no, almost certainly) out injured.
Burns, groin and Aluko ankle injuries. Neither are quick fixes in my view. And then there’s the dead leg to the impressive Ball too. Hope that massive win over League Two giants, Northampton was worth it.

I think its only Aluko we will be missing for any period of time and we have good cover there, Chaplin was precautionary apparently, Ball a dead leg and wasn't gonna play Saturday anyway and Burns seems to be carrying this niggle every week, we'll be fine.

Shame there were only 5k fans in the ground to witness last nights goal fest as that was just the sort of performance that gets new fans signed up. With hindsight perhaps it was one of those games to get families and kids involved with low priced special offers and pack the stadium with atmosphere. Next time maybe ?

True.
I was going to go until I saw it was on iFollow. It saved the rush - I have to allow an hour to drive, park and walk in. Anticipating a small crowd do not much atmosphere, I forked out a tenner to stream rather than £5 for an old man’s ticket. The people I usually go with weren’t going which finally influenced my decision.

Who’d be a manager? Change the entire squad for the Colchester game, lose 1-0 and it’s all your fault despite dominating the game. Do the same yesterday, win 6-0 and you’re still wrong because one or two outside the normal starting eleven picked up knocks.

That’s life Andy. I think the squad was used well last night and ok we got a couple of knocks but that can happen on the training ground. I think McKenna is doing a great job and of course we can’t and won’t win every game.
