Some good injury news today.

Town manager Kieran McKenna says that Panutche Camara and Cameron Burgess are both making good progress in their recoveries from injury.

Midfielder Camara joined Town from Plymouth on transfer deadline with a groin problem, while defender Burgess recently multiple facial fractures during the 2-0 home win against Bristol Rovers last month.

On Camara, McKenna said: “Hopefully he’ll be able to train fully with the squad at some point next week. That’s going to be a real boost."

On Burgess, the Blues boss said: “Everything's on track after his surgery. He’s out on the grass, he’s running, he’s doing ball work and not feeling any ill effects.

“I think another week or so and he can get a mask fitted and start to join in with some little bits of training."

I'm struggling to see how Camara will get a game. Ball has only started one game and I think Evans will come straight back into the team against Morecombe at Balls expense.
We've got 4 high quality midfielders to fill two places. Bit of an overload there.

Morsy's getting a ban soon (he's on 4 yellows) so I guess there's an opening - but it's only 1 game.

Yep there certainly appears to be strong competition for those 2 places. Mind you with automatic promotion, Papa Johns final at Wembley and a long FA Cup run to look forward too then we will need quality backups.
Bloody hell this drink must be strong!

I think he can play in numerous positions though, so not just midfield. I think he’s played wide and a number 10 role. Sure I read that somewhere. As usual the manager picks players that can play several positions ….or as he’d say , “ has certain( several?) attributes”

I had to look him up too, apparently we signed him with an injury from Plymouth Argyle for a fee of £500,000 on transfer deadline day when he was our final signing, it would appear he was a regular for Plymouth for two seasons and was only released because he refused to sign a new contract with them.

He was a REALLY good player for them …. Was excited to have learn that we’d got him and then the usual, oh, but he’s injured deflection soon after, lol!

I think he can play in numerous positions , it’ll be interesting to see where McKenna chooses to play him or to be more accurate , what role?

So looks like:

Burges - back in training but no contact yet/has a mask

Camara - now training with the first team

Ball - also back training with the first team

Leigh - out till around Xmas

Ahadme - unclear on return data as yet

Aluko I've no idea yet, but at a guess Xmas too.

What injury did Ahadme have? Maybe he’s the front man we need to shake up defences a bit ?

Camara is definitely needed in that team. He can run at people with the ball and best people snd makes opponents commit , and he does this centrally on the park. Could have done with him yesterday!!

Who do you see him replacing, Liz?

Burns?

Tbh , I think he could pose a threat to a number of players in the team, because I think he is capable of playing centrally or wide. So that could be Burns, Chaplin, Harness, (if we assume those 3 are dead cert starters) . Which position do I think he’d be most effective? I’d suggest a central role just behind a main striker. But it remains to be seen who we might be targeting to bring in, in Jan window (which I think we might well do).

Opinion properly divided on Burns across all Ipswich Town forum areas. What a dilemma for the player himself. Hopefully he shows strong character and his obvious talent shines through.

Would never find in a million years where I read it, but someone, somewhere had the crazy notion that the Welsh squad addition inflated his ego......., and he started playing sh*t. Think it was on another forum. Absurd thing to think.

And to think some used to laud it over Freddie Sears

Priskin was the absolute bomb before he played for Hungary, might be something in it you know. Similar stature and style to Haaland, he could've gone on to great things.

Not sure anyone has been really sh*t this season. Burns hasn't been as bright as last year, but he still contributes. Got us two winners against Pompey and Derby. Needs to work on his defence, but he puts in a shift every game. And obviously a good character in a tight squad- so not sure why some are going after him because of his perceived ego problems.
I'd keep him in the team for the moment. It's up to McKenna and the coaches to work with players like Burns and Donacien if they dip to improve them and work on
