Comparing the FA Cup pedigree of
Ipswich Town and Bracknell Town
In 1978 lpswich Town won the
competition,
In 2018/19 Bracknell Town forgot to enter it
Looking forward to welcoming you to Bottom Meadow

Ok, keep an eye out for when they go on sale, it's always 10am on the given release day, I work at the hospital so can't always have my phone on depending on where I am at the time but I'll try my best, I'm guessing any allocation will go in about 5 minutes.

Re: FA Cup first round draw
Welcome to our forum, how is the draw being received in Bracknell? Would there be any talk of switching the game to Portman Road for much bigger revenue ? I have no idea on Bracknell Town or your financial standing.

Re: FA Cup first round draw
Bracknell Town chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse says a safety audit will be carried out this week to assess the capacity for Town’s FA Cup first-round visit and hopes the two sets of fans won’t be segregated for the tie.
The Southern League Premier Division South side play at Bottom Meadow, Sandhurst Town's ground, which has a stated capacity of 1,950 with 250 seats.
Under FA Cup rules, away clubs can request up to 15 per cent of the available tickets.

Now that is forward thinking, I do not have a problem with that, id happily mix with oppo fans.
Thing is like everything you always get a very small minority that would spoil that.

Re: FA Cup first round draw
Nicky Hayes must have fell off his couch when seeing the draw thinking at last he'll get some game time or a chance to feature but somehow think him or Hdlaky won't get no opportunity and you know how it's going to be.
No disrepect to the opposition but appears a straight forward ticket into Round Two. Our Cup records going back long enough are absolute underachievement and we fail near each and every time but you got to expect a simple win with this one.
Would hope to keep the tie at the venue intended, not only would it generate that little extra in hopes of any upset but the fans over there get the chance to take in arguably the biggest game they've put on in years if not club history. Guess not all Bracknell fans is able to make the trip east to Portman Road.
Don't believe in any 'romance' or glamour of the competition anymore it's all fallicious bullshit best left in the 70's, however there remains a certain pull to this one.

Re: FA Cup first round draw
Remember FA cup gate receipts are always split 50/50, I'm sure they would rather have 50% of even 5k at portman road than 50% of 2k at their place.arana peligrosa wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 2:25 pmNicky Hayes must have fell off his couch when seeing the draw thinking at last he'll get some game time or a chance to feature but somehow think him or Hdlaky won't get no opportunity and you know how it's going to be.

Its why the small teams always want big away games, a full Old Trafford could result in a 1m+ payday for a small club.
Naturally alot of the time the big teams will gift there share when playing away though.

Re: FA Cup first round draw
Bracknell Town chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse says his club have struck gold by drawing the Blues in the first round of the FA Cup with the current unconfirmed expectation that the match will be screened live by ITV4 on the evening of Monday 7th November.
Town’s trip to Berkshire was one of the highlights of Monday’s draw not least for the home club’s chairman, who outlined the recent history of the Southern League Premier Division South side.
“We struck gold getting Ipswich, a superb tie for us, especially at home,” Steinborn-Busse told talkSPORT.

Re: FA Cup first round draw
It has been announced that the match is to be played on Monday, November 7 at 7.45pm- with a huge crowd expected to swamp Sandhurst.
All tickets have been priced at £25, and go on sale for season ticket holders and fans who purchased tickets for Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Hayes and Yeading and attend Saturday's fixture with North Leigh.
General sale begins on Sunday, October 24, and tickets are not expected to last long.
This will be the biggest event since the club moved to Bottom Meadow, Sandurst, and will be shown around the country on ITV4.

Re: FA Cup first round draw
It'll be their biggest event since the club moved from anywhere or did anything period. They're some four or five leagues below League One and while playing at their own stadium provides them an opportunity the chances of them beating us on the day are between slim and absolute zero.
The prospect of another live TV game is encouraging if it goes ahead but last time we featured lost to a non-league team a couple of years back. We've moved on significantly since then (other than a drop in division) and the improved structure and desire of our club name should prevent a re-run of the embarrassment of before.

I think McKenna will be a Manager who takes the FA Cup seriously and will want the club progress as far as we can.

Re: FA Cup first round draw
I can’t imagine their floodlights being up to much for a televised game under lights ?
Hopefully modern technology will be able to enhance the picture quality.
