Lol it was literally the only thing he did the whole game . I think Kieffer Moore made a bit of a difference up front for them. They played much better second half . I think they looked almost overawed by the occasion in the first half . They should have won it I think.

Female pundit in studio knows her stuff. No idea who she is, but she’s superb. Certainly talking more valid detail than Roy ever has in his career. …… in that 15 minutes.

Do you remember Keane wanted to change our colors to red? He’d love our away strip!

Re: World Cup 2022?!
It were so nearly a win but f*ck it what can you do. Believe would have taken a point from it before start of play but to concede late in the game and after being in command up until the interval, feels like a loss in some sense.
Should be a defeat and draw in the final two group games but all things are subject to change. Maybe we'll sneak through as one of the best third placed teams but such is the mess out there with the whole competition you just can't make plans about what may be. If the team makes the knockout stages i'll consider our participation a success, anything after that appears a bonus.
Can't quite knock Bale who denied us a win, maybe he was sh*t today in place of his usual high standard but Wales improved second-half and were value by end for a share of points. Disappointed right now but the first period performance was encouraging if nothing else.

Jaysus H. This WC couldn’t get any more comical than this Argentina game. Its the VAR Show. Losing patience rapidly.

Think the players better start cutting their toenails a little shorter......, they keep straying offside.
Farce.
That TV charades type signal thing that the ref's do is infinitely annoying.

Re: World Cup 2022?!
That must be one of the biggest shock result’s in the history of the World Cup. Judging by Marko’s comment it seems like another one or more dodgy VAR decisions, but given the huge gap between the two teams Argentina shouldn’t really need the help of VAR to put this game to bed.

Re: World Cup 2022?!
VAR should not be there for offsides unless there is daylight or something.
It's crazy that we're getting to a point where you can't celebrate a goal because you have to wait to see if VAR raises some crap.
Every other sport which has implemented technology has done it well and it's has been a net positive. It would be the same for football if it wasn't designed by complete idiots. Tech is here to stay in football, but my god, start from scratch.

Re: World Cup 2022?!
How could you not enjoy that England performance yesterday Mike or even Wales second half comeback last night. Whilst I really dislike the politics I don’t think the football has been too disappointing at all especially from an England perspective.
I just wish the players and management teams had stood the ground with their armband protests and stood up to FIFA and the Qataris because there’s no way on earth they could have started banning players over such a minor matter. The teams have actually now given the organisers the upper hand which will allow them to do whatever they want and get away with it.

To be honest Charny, the first 35mins of the England/Iran match was not very inspiring. In fact, Iran looked the better team in my opinion. Of course the outcome of the match proved England were eventually dominant. I wonder how that game would have unfolded if Iran had scored first?Charnwood wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 2:37 pmHow could you not enjoy that England performance yesterday Mike or even Wales second half comeback last night. First half England had 82% of the ball,Iran in my opinion showed very little threat.

I think I made the comment at the time that it felt like watching Ipswich v Cheltenham, however we were way too good for them despite them coming to the World Cup having only lost 3 of there previous 21 games. If England can maintain that level of performance we should win the group easily, however we all know there’s likely to be a number of unexpected twists and turns waiting on the sidelines.
Had they miraculously scored first it would have been a far less entertaining game because they’d have had little option other than to park the bus on the edge of the box and stop us playing. Hopefully we won’t see too many games where that happens with the best 8 teams arriving safely in the QF’s.

Re: World Cup 2022?!
We are talking about an Iran side that comprised of Ten part time players and One professional, they were absolutely dross and yet scored Two goals, no wonder Southgate was jarred off.
I thought the Wales game was awful too, improved after the break yes but still far from inspiring for me.
Qatar were laughable, Argentina by the sounds of it disinterested and as we speak Denmark can't beat Tunisia.
Worse still all the talk is about f**king VAR and how much added on time. My original thoughts about not being at all interested have been well and truly backed up.

Re: World Cup 2022?!
Its a 7:45pm Kick off, Charnwood.
Half time is at 9pm
2nd half kicks off 9:15pm
Full time quarter to 11.
New rules in the world of football apparently.
Hope the Pompey fans manage to catch the train back to the shed that is Portsmouth.

England v Iran last night 117 mins 16 seconds, although to be fair almost half the added time must have been as a result of the GK’s clash of heads with his own defender.

Re: World Cup 2022?!
Another controversial VAR decision late in the Denmark v Tunisia game but at least this time it was a correct outcome thanks to a strong referee not swayed by the VAR committee who seem to be overstepping their purpose for being there.
