That's positive enough for my liking. I'll say it now, if Broadhead stays fit, we go up automatically.

Definitely see the point of a positive thread……. But positivity must be born from whats going on on the field. If its draws to Lincoln and losses to Oxford Utd …….. then it can be damn difficult to be positive.

Hopeful is more the word.

On a positive, I said a while back I have watched every Town game this season and I have not seen any team deserve ro beat us or draw against us . We have been are own worst enemy. If we can just sort out our finishing per chances created and stop the late goals from a dominant performance we could quite easily win promotion . :D

OK, I'm a convicted optimist* but I still go for Town and Owls for the automatic places (although not necessarily in that order) and Plymouth to miss out.

Derby to go up through play-offs.

Mark my words!

I would love to share your optimism and Owls and Town would most definitely be my two teams of choice, I would also
like to see both teams back in the Premier League.

However, I keep watching Plymouth and every time I expect to see them slip up but they never do and are a real threat this season and deserve to be taken seriously. They’ve also added about half a dozen new signings in the January transfer window albeit mostly loans and lost their talisman Morgan Whittaker. To me they look the real deal and we shouldn’t be expecting them to implode.

If we want automatic promotion we’ll have to win it, not hope Plymouth gift it to us.

For the record I’m still in the positive camp and expect us to take one of the two automatic places, the key will be McKenna getting the CB’s jigsaw complete.

Yep, same. Judging by the Football League Show weekly highlights, Plymouth look much better than SheffWed. Wouldn't be surprised at all if SW hit a poor run of form.

Oddly enough , I think the opposite will happen . I reckon SWFC will beat Plymouth and the latter are about to go into a month if hard fixtures….

We need to win our supposedly easy games in Feb ( SWFC being the odd game out)

This was a must win game. We didn’t even score. Nothing to be positive about.

I’m positive we can completely forget automatic promotion this season but less positive we’ll make the play offs. What’s disappointing is the speed with which we’ve imploded given we’re out of the running and it’s only February.

Im positive that if ITFC could get into the Championship with KMcK, then it’ll be a Sunderland Scenario……. Play off hunt for EPL.

Like the Championship in Scotland…… League One is an absolute disaster area…….. and said as much when people wanted McCarthy out.
Quote: “League One will be disasterous”…… and it is.

We can’t change what happens this season. What will be, will be.

BUT:

Look how far this Club has travelled in the last 12-18 months. We’re lightyears away from the shambles Evans left in his wake.

What a squad we have assembled in that time.

What lovely football we play ( not always suitable for league one) but when we’re in full flow , oh my what a sight to behold. The like of which we haven’t seen at PR for over 20yrs!

What a brilliant young manager we have. Who analyses the game to such a depth. Some might say too much. But what it illustrates is his capacity to reflect , learn and change/ tweak.

So, if it’s not to be this season, our trajectory is must definitely upwards, and GC are in it for the long haul, as are the staff, Ashton and McKenna, and I suspect all of the squad.

Much to be positive about if we ( I) can stand back and see the wood for the trees .

Yes as someone ruse has said . He must take the plaudits AND the criticism when the dust settles on this season. He’s been integral to what’s come in through the door from the back room staff to the manager and the squad .

Maybe McKenna had had to estate the squad BECAUSE it’s so large !? Why there’s that many players in the squad I don’t know ( most appear injured anyway), but I doubt it’s the manager or Ashton in isolation. Which is why I say accept the plaudits when things go well and shoulder responsibility when things don’t go so well. I wonder if we’ll be hearing much from Ashton if the brown stuff hits the fan at the end if this season? I’m just asking the question btw.

You’re right Hallam, everyone should be questioned if things continue to go sour. However, the more I think about it I want MA/KM both back next season no matter what happens. I know I’ve been all over the place in my thinking of late, but that’s what I’ve settled on.

Oh I’m with you 100% #9 …. The club is in a good place now . Just don’t want any knee jerk reactions over a potential non promotion season under McKenna( which some fans are now voicing ), which is just ridiculous. I posted on twtd that he’s only been in the job a year and that he’s a managerial novice only to a response from a former poster in here ( he’s a complete grade A tit btw), that “ the average managerial job expectancy is just 18/12”… to B which I responded , “ well that doesn’t make it right, but only goes to show just how sad and knee jerk this industry has now become”.
