Wednesday demand a meeting with refs….

Post by hallamblue » Sat Feb 11, 2023 10:06 am

Just seen this on twtd.

On the eve of our game.

Let’s hope it doesn’t cause today’s ref to give them everything and, if anything, it works the other way.

Seems a really bizarre thing to be doing when top of the league. They had a couple of laughable decisions that were given against them last week in a match which they won. The officials did something they can’t do apparently. Like making up rules in a match you can’t see and then claiming you never said it?

Meanwhile, the officials cost us three points at Hillsborough. No action taken against their fans hurling missiles at the officials. Same incompetence cost us against Barnsley. A few other games as well.

Surely this poor officiating is just the result of having most of the ball and most of the chances in a league with terrible refs. You’ll get a lot more goals ruled out, offsides against and bad tackles against you ignored?

If they demand a meeting, we should be demanding a seat on the bloody board. We kicked off less over an absolute farce at Oxford. We’ve been the masters of our own downfall, especially in stoppage time, but that aside we could make a real case for being 9-10 points better off with competent referees.

Can only hope today’s referee has taken great offence at their actions and is going to give them something to really moan about

Maybe they can look at the fuckwit decision when they had a 2 yard offside goal against us given to rob us yet again of Two points, Dicks.

And also why no action was taken by the authorities when our goalkeeper was hit by a coin.

Further to above comments.
Looking at this post you can see how much WE have been affected by poor refs decision, thing is WE are too accommodating about it all. WE don’t make anywhere near enough fuss about it all….. maybe WE should wake up!

While we haven’t exactly helped ourselves in the last few months, officials have cost us a load points for obvious and basic mistakes:
- Barnsley (h) Harness’ goal disallowed), 2 points.
- Sheff Wed (a) equaliser offside (as well as not taking the players off), 2 points.
- Charlton (a) not sending their player off and giving a penalty for a blatant handball on the line. 2 points.
- Fleetwood (h) blatant penalty not given just after their goal, 2 points.
- Portsmouth (a) never a free-kick for their first goal. 2 points.
- Lincoln (a) not giving us a penalty for a more obvious foul they got their’s for (3 fouls in one photo!), 2 points.
- Oxford (a) not abandoning the game, 1 point.
