Cheers Shabba, I can’t wait for the fixture list to come out and already scheming with pals who support Birmingham and Sunderland to book flights for those games. Hopefully there will be more including Leicester if they get relegated. As much as I enjoy watching on tv it’s not the same as watching live. Just hope the air fares don’t make it prohibitive. It’s a shame that East Anglia doesn’t have an airport which seems insane.

I was thinking that the other day, I live fairly close to STN so its very handy, and even then LGW/LHR/LCY/LTN/SEN are all within 90mins. Must be a pain for anyone living in Suffolk/Norfolk, even the Kent Downs.

Yeah, but I think Charnwood would want to fly from Alicante and as far as I know there are no flights from there to STN or even Luton

We used too! The dozy bloody council said we didn’t need one, and the council have cocked up the running of our town ever since. They couldn’t organise a p*ss up in a brewery.

It’s infuriating to see how this place has been allowed to get run down because they can’t make business decisions. This is why we have failed to get city status because they are incompetent at putting together a feasible business plan in order to be granted city status.

Even a recent urban regeneration specialist that was brought in, left the post after a couple of months stating the waring political council groups just couldn’t agree on anything and it was impossible for that for that advisor to work with and advise these utter bloody dickheads!

Must say......, just looked at the diary in the first post. These pre-season friendlies are absolute sh!t. Any decent ones happening? You could add University of Stirling and it'd be a tougher challenge.

Com on, MASH....., get someone decent lined up.

This one is a real surprise - usually a no-no to play someone in your league as the result can knock confidence etc, still be good to test ourselves early against championship opponents

Yes, I found this a strange choice too Shabba. Perhaps all the Premier League sides are looking to have their single home friendlies against European sides, hence we were not considered strong enough opposition!

I’d have thought we’d have a pre-season friendly with Burnley?

I’d have tried for Luton, prem team but likely won’t totally change their side after going up. Also more local.

Its nice for us folks 'up North' to have a game we could potentially go to pre-season.

Friendly against Maidenhead on Suffolk soil announced! Their manager is a blast from the past - Alan Devonshire of West Ham fame.

May have missed one or two out but I got (in order) Felixstowe, Preston North End, Cambridge and Stevenage lined up as pre-season games and 'entertainment'. This isn't exactly standing three feet away from a naked Megan Avalon, I mean where's the thrill and excitement in those games listed.

Seem to mention this each summer but once again can't they organize a trip to the Netherlands or Denmark or something (it's straight across the North Sea) for some more challenging caliber of opponent. That would be real good, facing off against say Ajax or Feyenoord or FC Copenhagen or something. Something that offers a certain type of enthralment, the games we got listed just don't provide or have it.

It's like the English taking on Gibraltar, Malta, Macedonia (Inuits /polar bears of frozen Alaska etc etc) Where's the challenge ?
