Re: Fixtures here
Town will take on two German Bundesliga teams with European pedigree to finish their pre-season schedule.
The Blues are taking part in the Innsbruck Cup in the Austrian city on Friday, 28 July, facing RB Leipzig and SV Werder Bremen in two 60-minute matches at Tivoli Stadion.
Both matches will be broadcast live on TownTV, complete with multi-camera coverage, dedicated commentary and live pitchside presentation, produced by the Club.
Town will play Leipzig at 2.30pm CEST before facing Werder Bremen later in the day at 5pm CEST. The two German teams will meet at 3.45pm.
RB Leipzig finished third in last season’s Bundesliga and have competed in the Champions League in each of the last five campaigns.
Werder Bremen are four-time German champions who have won the domestic cup on six occasions, while also winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1992.
Tivoli Stadion, which will be open to supporters for the tournament, has a capacity of 17,000 and hosted games during Euro 2008.
Town fans wishing to attend the tournament can purchase tickets in a dedicated section in the stadium’s East Stand, priced as follows.
Adults - €19
Concessions - €14
Under 14s - €9
Tickets are on-sale immediately and can be purchased directly from the Innsbruck Cup’s ticketing partner, here.
The Innsbruck Cup will be Town’s second trip to Austria during pre-season, with a training camp confirmed from Sunday, 9 July to Sunday, 16 July and matches with Spartak Trnava and Flyeralarm Admira scheduled for Saturday, 15 July.

He’ll probably end up at Derby the way they are reportedly pursuing him.

Re: Fixtures here
Lol … I’m not getting my hopes up. You have to hope he does the job because we currently haven’t got another striker in the squad. Myself, I’m not entirely convinced he will score enough for us as our primary number 9, at Championship level.
I think he’s a good League one striker though, as he has proven on numerous occasions. But I don’t think our game is as fluid with him as the number 9 and Broadhead/ Burns/ Chaplin around him.
Hirst was, in my humble opinion, far more intuitive in that role. Freddie is more of a fox in the box type of player and likes to “ battle” with his opponent. I just think we’re going to need a striker with a bit more in his locker to be effective at Championship level.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens. But put it it this way is Freddie is still with us he’ll get my support and I’d love him to prove me wrong. We’ll see.

Re: Fixtures here
No you are right, Freddie is not your typical number nine but equally KM doesn't play him as such. We definitely need another couple of strikers with different attributes, I wouldn't mind Hirst but as you know I've always felt he arrived here as a bit of a mercenary who was just killing time between clubs.

Re: Fixtures here
Do you think Freddie was always a target of our Mike, or a make do because we tried all summer to get Hirst but couldn’t because he naturally preferred to play at home championship level when it was offered?

Re: Fixtures here
Burns has not proved himself at Championship level Liz - the only Championship club he ever played at he had just a handful of games and was constantly loaned out. I don't think there is any wonder that a right-sided froward was one of the positions being bandied about at the start of the transfer window, and I would be very surprised to see him having regular starts next season.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 1:53 pmLol … I’m not getting my hopes up. Re: Fixtures here
I did say a few weeks ago, we might be surprised by s9me senior squad players either being shipped out or as you now suggest not getting much game time. With a squad limit of 25 , we look like we’re trying to get younger players in who might not count towards that 25. I saw somewhere that young players from PL clubs still might count towards the 25 even if they’re under 21… don’t know what others might know about this ?rossi wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 3:58 pmBurns has not proved himself at Championship level Liz - the only Championship club he ever played at he had just a handful of games and was constantly loaned out. But got right through to the big where you pay. So should be able to do it.
