Do we know anything about his fitness or when we might see him included in the team. He could just be the missing part to making the team complete.

Reading that you kinda wonder what he is doing here, failed to impress a string of Man Utd managers, earns silly money, often injured and failed to impress at any of his loan clubs, personally I wouldn't be expecting much from him if I'm honest, making up the numbers in case of a crisis me thinks.

Yes. Nothing at all about that article suggests he’ll make Ipswich Town complete.

He looked good in his highlights reel, but we’ve been fooled by that before…reminds me off a song.

It's a roll of a dice isn't it, and probably not too risky. He obviously has quality, if McKenna can get his head in the right place and the fitness team keep him sound, then we've got a potentially excellent player for cheap. They've pulled off more challenging things in the past, so who knows, worth a punt.

Im struggling to see the worth in the punt. Big wages for a guy who’s never been asked to stay on at any loan club. 🤷‍♂️ That ends the punt for me.

Do we know what wages he's on though? I skim stuff, so may have missed the point! Looks to be hard to recruit quality centre backs, would still say its the weak part of the team, even though they have done well this term.

You skim the headline as well? Its there!

And quote from the article:

Intriguingly, were this to have been triggered, the defender’s salary would have automatically risen to £62,000-a-week, a huge rise of £20,000-a-week.

End quote

Huge dosh.

Either it's ambiguously worded or I'm an idiot, more than likely the later, but aren't they talking about his United contract? Nothing about what he's on here??

Yes, but the point is, for him to be supposedly worth £42K a week @ Manure, then not impress at his loan appoimtments? 🤔…… adding the injury tendencies.
You’d hope, ( 🙏 ) ITFC don’t take a punt. Just my opinion of course.

Ah well I'd like to think he's on 1k a week here and McKenna is going to relight the fire in his belly. Optimistic perhaps!!

On 1K but never told?

Checks online bank statement.

“HEY KIERON? This is 41 grand short. Where’s the rest of it?”

KM: “HAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah right. Ok, stop kidding around. Get kitted, training time, let’s go.”

Aston Villa took him on loan 3 times,if he didn't impress why did they want him back? I've read on other forums he's very good if match fit.

As a youngster he clearly was a player with great potential but at just age 25 and only 14 appearances to his name over the past 4 years you really do have to question his presence here and what the future holds for him. My only thoughts are that Kieran McKenna my be thinking of giving him a defensive coaching role especially given the similarities between his and Axels very short careers with both players finished in their early 20’s

This is a player that pre back injury, kept Mbappé in his back pocket according to a few things I’ve read over recent weeks since he joined us.

If KMcK wants him at this Club, he must see something in him surely?

Sometimes players just do better under different managers or in different approaches. I’m just looking forward to seeing how he does when he comes into the side. The big question is, who will make way for him?

Liz, I'm thinking like you Kieran knows what Axel is capable of as a centre-back, and under his guidance will be in the side playing his quality best game, as most players in the squad want and have to give Keiran 100% effort, so watch out Wolfie or Burgess don't get complacent your place is not guaranteed

Possibly Liz especially for the teams that like to just punt the ball long, Him and Burgess will eat the long ball system all day long

Wonder if Axel will make his debut Weds v Bristol? Don’t think he can be far off a start now.
