Another very good game for Hkadky too. Christian Walton really is going to struggle getting his place back.

f*ck 3-2, prediction down the pan and concentration gone a bit thinking the job was done.

Why oh why are we not simply trying to retain possession and play the game out especially with the extra man. This is crazy.

At last some sensible possession play, they can’t score an equaliser if they don’t have the ball.

The extra man? BBC hasn't said Argyle has player off. Is it an injury?

Apologies Hibs. Should've won acc to Kenny Miller.marko69 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 2:45 pmBig big game today and slightly nervous about it. (probably because there are no nerves re Hibs today....., that'll be a spanking) ....., but reckon Argyle will be well and truly up for this today....., Whittaker & Co will have done their homework. A slender 1-0 win again would be very good indeed.
5-1 Ipswich

Fantastic win ITFC. ....., what a season. Table looks unreal......, 34 points with game in hand, 17pts ahead of NCFC on 17pts.

Having watched them play today I can’t believe Plymouth haven’t won an away game so far this season, 3 draws and 4 defeats seems crazy if they can play like that.

What's wrong with Morsy. 4 yellows and he's not one.
Great win against a bit of a bogey team from last season. Was worried about this one. Keep on rolling Town

Re: Championship - Ipswich Town vs Plymouth Argyle Preview & Matchday Thread
Another incredible result when not at our best, somehow we find a way and it's the mark of a great side. For me Hladky was just outstanding and my MOTM, also Two incredible last ditch tackles from Edmundson stopped Two almost certain goals so fair play to him too.
Plymouth really did cause us problems at times and that has to be a false league position, I feel they handled our style of play better than any other opponents this season.
This incredible journey just goes on and on and the gap is back to Nine with the potential fir it to be Twelve, a position we could only dream of pre season. I thought Morsy, Williams and Harness when he came on also played very well. When we get back into our full stride again someone is gonna get a spanking.

Spot on Mike.
Hladky was immense, really feel for Walton now but I can’t see him getting back in other than for an injury or suspension (or the cup game).
We just keep managing to win, it’s unreal!

Another borefest at Portman Road. What a performance from Hladky as good as I’ve seen from a goalkeeper in a long time. Rode our luck at times but the one thing this team has in abundance is character. Mind you they do make it difficult for you to stay calm.

Re: Championship - Ipswich Town vs Plymouth Argyle Preview & Matchday Thread
Perhaps if they actually played the game with some integrity and honesty they might get more points. They essentially sat back and tried to hit us in the break. Nothing wrong with that BUT the level of time wasting in the first half by them went unpunished by the ref ( bearing in mind Hladky has got 4 yellows for taking to long to start the game), ….. then there was the blatant diving by their players at the slightest touch by a Town player, feigning injury several times.
It was like watching a League One team come here with the sole intention to frustrate us. Have they no pride? They are a good and very fast team. They didn’t deserve anything today because they lacked the courage to take us on in a game
of “ football”.
Edit. I would add I have no respect for this club and especially not their whinging fans . Shame really coz I used like and want them to do well.

Re: Championship - Ipswich Town vs Plymouth Argyle Preview & Matchday Thread
It was unfortunate that Hirst didn’t score in the first 5 minutes. Their goal was excellent, and I have to say they defended very well. Out of our 15 shots they blocked 9 off them. They looked dangerous going forward, helped my some wayward passing by Town at times.
A very fortunate equaliser after what might have been a penalty conceded by Ipswich. I thought the ref let a lot go / missed a lot, but wasn’t helped by them falling over at every opportunity. That might have backfired and been the reason he didn’t give the penalty.
A contour of good goals should have been enough against 10 men but we don’t close down enough in my opinion.
Still, a win is a win, and payback time for last season, but they were unlucky not to get a point.
I think the intensity of our play makes it hard to play less than 72 hours after the Wednesday match.

Walton will be in the team against Fulham as will Axel Tuanzebe, Freddie, Burgess, Clarke, Taylor, Ball, Scarlett, plus others that are not getting game time,

Attending games at Portman Road these days should come with a health warning. I'd have a goddamn coronary sitting through that time and again, it's got to be a real strain on some who attend. OK the end result makes it worthwhile but some would question why put yourself through all that.
The game appeared frantic at times, they could just have easily taken a point back from it or even three points themselves. That penalty claim when they were a goal ahead, I've seem them awarded for less. Vaclav made at least outstanding stop but very nearly allowed them back in right at the end. Not sure when Walton will feature again even when available but no doubt will get the opportunity in enough time.
It's a shame we're playing so well and winning so often but still trouble trying to occupy first place. Even in October the gap between us and third provides a real encouraging picture. Norwich fans can go f*ck themselves, for so much time we were the punchline to their humor and now complete reversal of fortune. It's amazing the way things have transpired this season.

All the talk of a penalty and yet Edmundson didn't touch him, about the only thing the ref got right and the only thing that went our way. As Liz says what a whinging and whining bunch of time wasting cheats they are which is a shame cus they can play.

Reckon the ref was a bit tired of the mystery sniper by that stage.

Suspect you could be right re Walton, and if he is it’ll be interesting to see how he is with ball at his feet. I’m not convinced he’s “ safe” or comfortable playing this way and it’s how we play now. I’m convinced Walton will ultimately leave due to lack of playing opportunities.ashfordblue wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 11:37 pmWalton will be in the team against Fulham as will Axel Tuanzebe, Freddie, Burgess, Clarke, Taylor, Ball, Scarlett, plus others that are not getting game time,
I’m really looking forward to seeing what Tuanzebe can do although he’s not played for months so will be very rusty I think.

Re: Championship - Ipswich Town vs Plymouth Argyle Preview & Matchday Thread
I’ll be surprised if Kieron plays anything other than a strong team v Fulham.
Totally 100% accept that promotion is the goal, but it wasn’t the goal at seasons start. It was definitely consolidation in the league. (Anyone thinking promo was a reality pre-season is a liar)
9 points clear in second with a game in hand v Rotherham ——>> adding a quarter final to that would be unreal. Could be massively wrong as im a posh plumber (ie, a heating engineer) ….: but would be disappointed if its not the strongest team v Fulham.
