Thats a decent looking team for starting v Preston. Glad Axel not there. He’s not good. And thats an opinion based on Ipswich Town playing Maidstone @ Portman Road.

Adama Sidibeh [Warrington Rylands - St Johnstone]
For a moment I thought it must have been a move from an Australian team to the Scottish Prem (has to be somewhere in Oz called Warrington).
On checking it is Warrington in the NW!
Never heard of the team but apparently they are in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
Not sure what it says about the quality of both leagues!!

Personally I think Butcher and Osman need to STFU, I hate it when ex players do this, I mean Butcher was a marvellous Manager wasn't he, total train wreck, its all about "we were the best the club has ever had" mentality and they would hate that to ever be challenged.Cabanas Blue wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 12:18 amJust watching Life's a pitch and both Butcher and Osman are not happy with either of our new two front men, I just hope they are wrong.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
To be honest, if we have to play just one up front then I much prefer 3-4-2-1 to 4-2-3-1 - it's a much more balanced formation in my view and ought to lead to us scoring more.Charnwood wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 12:01 amWe could set up 3-4-2-1
Defensive 3, Burgess /Woolfie / Edmundson or Tuanzabe) with 2 Wing backs ( Clarke/ Davis/ Williams) either side of Morsy / Luongo or Travis. With Moore up front with Chaplin and Alhamadi or anr behind him.
The bench would have say. Walton Tuanzabe or anr. Williams or anr, Travis or anr. Sarmiento, Hutchinson, Broadhead & Burns
and we still have Harness, Jackson and a few others who are going to struggle for game time.
As for your proposed line-up - no Broadhead, no Burns, I like it.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Now we are in the second half I would expect a few tweaks to give teams we already played some new challenges. But not necessarily formation changes.
Also not sure than KM starts tomorrow tbh. He's just had time to pee in the training ground toilets so far...

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Marco that's the wrong basis, put Axel alongside Burgess and you have a different animal, with Clarke and Edmundson charging up the wings, which left him a bit exposed, to say the least, Maidstone was a one-off cup game and KM never should have had 10 changes in the lineup, 5 yes but 10 no it was too big a change.

Even without a single training session with the rest of the team ? … that’s a big risk for everyone even for 3 days pay.number 9 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 11:33 amWith the wages we're paying Moore, I think he'll start!Dubai Blue wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 10:46 amNow we are in the second half I would expect a few tweaks to give teams we already played some new challenges. Kieran has said today, Moore will play some part in the Preston match. I think Moore will start...and I think he'll score.Charnwood wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 1:03 pmEven without a single training session with the rest of the team ? … that’s a big risk for everyone even for 3 days pay.number 9 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 11:33 amWith the wages we're paying Moore, I think he'll start!Dubai Blue wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 10:46 amNow we are in the second half I would expect a few tweaks to give teams we already played some new challenges. Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Moore was with us some years back although don't recall much his playing time here. Must have had some limited appearances or it were with one of our past inept-managerial names under Evans where play was sub-standard and the club was going nowhere fast. Not always easy to recall those lousy times and everyone involved.
Should make more of an impact this time around with added experience and we now have a much more successful club set-up and players around him more robust and ambitious than before. The other we brought in from Wimbledon (obviously brought to attention with the recent Cup tie) will be interesting to see what he can bring to the table and if able (to) contribute in a higher league.
Ladapo loaned out to Charlton Athletic or something, was that necessary. He's far from prolific with us but then again hasn't always featured but at the same time on occasion seems one of the more pivotal figures of the team. Guess McKenna knows what he's doing. In truth i'd allow him a loan out someplace as we got other options that can find goal and make the difference.

Yes, one of our past inept managers AP, it was under super d*ck McCarthy, so naturally he was given less than a dozen run outs and then discarded, before going elsewhere and scoring loads.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
He's been with the wrong pairing, just wait until Burgess is back this weekend as South Korea have just knocked the Aussies out in the Asian Cup quarter-final 2-1
also, KM thinks he's an excellent acquisition to the squad and that's what counts, KM doesn't give a fig about what we all think about Axel

A manager that doesn't give a fig about what the fans think is on thin ice.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Reading some of the crap I read written by Town fans on social media I certainly wouldn’t give a fig about what the majority of them think, and I can’t imagine other football clubs fans are much different.
Of course there are some intelligent and very knowledgeable fans but they appear to be in the minority and collectively probably not at the top of the managers priority when making selection decisions.
However this doesn’t mean that managers don’t give a fig about them as most managers know the importance of having fans onside and the good ones make that happen and McKenna is pretty good at it.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Exactly and that's why I think he definitely would care about what the fans think, to a point.
