Re: Championship - Rotherham United vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Just switched across to Sky for HT analysis, verdict Stonewall penalty for Town when Hurst was brought down from behind.
The referee was in a great position to see it but looked to his linesman to make the call and he was in nowhere near as good a position as the referee. No balls to make the call !

Apart from the foul he won, What has Jackson really done? He just cannot find the telling pass. Right through one player each side of him yet he flumps it.
We really do miss Burns down the right, wonder how long before Hutchinson comes on
Yes it was a definite penalty. Game still there to win, just think about it a bit more Town

People keep talking about teams having a 'blip' and I am just wondering if we are in the middle of ours as we seem a bit tired tbh...

I think we have been below par for 4 matches or so. Hopefully it’s just a temporary dip. We are still generally grinding out results at the moment. I think we play a very energetic game and there are some tired legs - something I never thought I’d say as I thought players should be about to play 3 games a week.
Hopefully e we will turn it round.

Re: Championship - Rotherham United vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Only one shot on target, Rotherham are definitely making it difficult albeit helped by a couple of poor refereeing decisions which could gave seen us 1-3 in front.

Tiredness leading to poor concentration and poor decision making for me. Time for some subs!

I think we’re beginning to see how important squad depth is when you get in the higher divisions. Is it fair to say we’ve punched above our weight so far, and now it’s catching up?
Don’t get me wrong, we’ve been competitive & resilient in every match. A few more quality signings and we’ll be Automatic contenders. I fear though, we will fall off if we don’t strengthen in the January transfer window. No way in my opinion should Jackson be starting for example.

Can’t remember the last time we only had 1 shot on target with less than 10 mins to play.

Re: Championship - Rotherham United vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
I'll respectfully disagree here......., its because Rotherham are like Alloa......., stubborn and utter shyte. Ipswich will fare better v the Leicesters. In my opinion of course. This is just very frustrating.number 9 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 10:43 pmI think we’re beginning to see how important squad depth is when you get in the higher divisions. I’d say fatigue more than anything.AzzurroMark wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 10:23 pmHave not seen any recent games other than highlights. What's the general consensus about why we've gone off the boil?
Promotion confidence wearing off? Other teams sussed us out? Fatigue?
Just interested to know.
I went into the season hoping for a top half finish. I think early results inflated everyone’s expectations, maybe too much. We are a very good Championship team with an excellent manager. But it might take more than one season to crack this league, and we shouldn’t be too disappointed if it does.
We are going through a bit of a dip, and I think it’s our high intensity game that means we are tiring.
