Fa Cup
I see the 3rd round draw is this Sunday, be interesting to see who we get.
Personally I’d always want a home draw against a lower league side or a big away day at a big stadium like Spurs.
The fixture is played over the weekend 5-8th Jan, so at least it’s a clear weekend without a game midweek before or after. Would be good to give the first XI a rest though.

Re: Fa Cup
All i've know last few years is entering at Round One and often eliminated with it at first hurdle. This time we're made of stronger stuff and got a two round head start on before but whether anyone wants to agree or disagree simple fact here is - we're not going to win the damn thing.
be a shame to shatter some people's illiusions but that's the truth of it. Maybe feature as high as the 5th round but the manager and players will have focus solely on promotion to the EPL as soon as competition gets underway. Make no mistake the manager now takes it more seriously than a number of his predecessors but how far do you feasibly think we'll get. Promotion is the primary objective, Cup focus will go by the wayside before the season reaches Spring.
Think the Fulham game just recent provided an answer there's a limit to these things where the players and manager stop trying and concentrate purely on something (other) we're much more likely to achieve.

Re: Fa Cup
For our fantastic away following I'd like to see an away day against Everton! This will probably be the last chance ever to see ITFC play at Goodison, one of the Grand old ladies of football! Yes it's a trek but one that the likely minimum of close to 4K (based on 10% of capacity) could see the chance of an upset.
There's plenty of time to visit new stadia like those of Spurs & Brentford! Just over an hour until the 12.55 draw on ITV.

13/1 Ramsgate. Worth a wee fiver.
This could be this seasons "Darvel" result.

Re: Fa Cup
I thought it was a good draw. Every chance of making it through to the 4th Round with half the clubs already knocked out. 50/50 chance of making it to the 5th Round and the last 16 which is when it gets interesting and the chances are high of good day out against a top team.
I’d much prefer that compared to a cert ko in our first round.

Re: Fa Cup
Yea, 2-0 up in 28 mins and one way traffic doesn’t bode well for the visitors. I think it’s Wimbledon here we come and 36 miles less for fans to travel.
The only downside is the potential embarrassment of a shock defeat to a League Two club. But highly unlikely I would hope.

What a miss by Lee Martin. Should have buried it to make it 2-1.
